You can run for what, an hour? An hour and a half? You can stay on the bike for 3 hours with your heart rate pushed higher than you can sustain running.
what bike do you use? As in like stationary bike, BMX bike, mountain bike, racing bike etc

Mountain bike with front suspension that manages to soak up all my damn energy going up hill. I'm looking into getting an actual road bike as its a bit of an ego thing to get passed by these road racer guys on their fancy bikes with their shaved legs.

Going longer /=/ better. Calves? Running works more than your calves, in fact I don't believe its even the primary muscle. Motion in the ring? Since when do you use a cycling motion in the ring? Running is much closer.
You are obviously young and have no idea what you are talking about so I'll keep it simple.

If your heart is beating at 178bpm for 3 hours, its better than having your heart beating at 178 bpm for 1 hour.

Cardio is all about moving oxygen, and thats what cycling is all about.

Just to prove a point, here is a marathon runner.

            Here is a cyclist.

It might just be my eyes playing tricks on me, but I see a HUGE difference in leg development. It looks to me like the Cyclist has much much stronger legs...

Your biker seems to be severly lacking in the front leg muscle

Outside HANDS DOWN! Treadmill is boring and tedious.

As far as cardio maybe you're right depending on how a long a person can run vs bike. I have always heard that running is a better form of a cardio workout when compared to boxing.

And then theres bikers who run.

Personally i think both are very important and neither can take the place of the other. a combination of both would probably be the best option. Not just sprinting and biking but long distance running as well is very important.

Another thing important to make note of is that if your competing in either sport your problem working your legs by doing more than just the sport, ex: lifting.
