Treadmills give me invertigo. I always get the spins when i'm running on a treadmill. I'd rather do point A to B or run around in a circle at a track. When it rains though, that's a different story. Sometimes i run in the rain, but not really because i don't like that *****.

I've biked a fair amount with a friend and I felt the soreness mostly above my knee, but running hard for a good amount of time makes me much sorer.
Thats why biking is better. You can get a better leg workout, and more cardio.

You can run for what, an hour? An hour and a half? You can stay on the bike for 3 hours with your heart rate pushed higher than you can sustain running.

Well its already been proven it takes more than double the time on bike to burn the same amount of calories you could burn running, also IMO running=best cardio increaser/workout.

I rode a mile on a bike, as quickly as possible, when i got off the bike i collapsed, not because of staminia problems, but because my legs had gone completely to jelly, i literally could not walk for a few minutes.

When i run a mile as quickly as i can, i do not get the same results muscular wise, then when i do biking. It's a look easier to absoloutley beast yourself on a bike, then on a run.

Thats pretty much what my rides consist of. Ride harder and harder until my legs burn like nobodies business, then stand up on the pedals and sprint until I can't sprint any more, then dial it back and recover for a few min and do it all over again.

I use to think that running was better too... until I gave the bike a try. I am now of the opinion that running is an outdated training method that should only be used to keep your calves strong.

It trains a motion that we never use in the ring, and it is inferior in terms of cardio and overall leg strength to the bike.

The only running I do now is sprints.

Lol running is a better workout for cardio and legs. To even get the same cardio you have to go much longer, which if you did the time on the bike for running you'd get more of a benefit. Going longer /=/ better. Calves? Running works more than your calves, in fact I don't believe its even the primary muscle. Motion in the ring? Since when do you use a cycling motion in the ring? Running is much closer.

I also think that a good view of the outdoors makes the run go by much quicker. 5 miles outside is much more fulfilling than on a treadmill to me at least
