No, heavy bags are specifically designed to help increase strength as they offer more resistance. I wouldn't fill out your bag, i'd just buy a new one, they aren't that expensive unless you're going for the full on gym quality ones. You can save money by getting 'canvas bags', these are just punch bags that are made of material rather than synthetic leather or leather, however, don't use good gloves on these as they do have more friction.
If you want to practice boxing in your garage (honestly though, you can't learn to box in your garage, you have to go to a gym), get a reasonably heavy bag, I like the angle bags myself because it represents a body shape more. They're a bit more expensive but they're good, not so great for practising the hook though. Also, get a "floor to ceiling ball", you can get these for cheap, about £10 ($20?). These are obviously the lower end ones but the range between lower end and higher end floor to ceiling balls isn't quite the same as between punch bags, gloves etc. So you can get away with a cheaper one. These are good for hand, eye co-ordination and stamina which can help teach to keep your hands up.

Pfft.. There are "heavy bags" at my gym and others that are hanging from much higher ceilings and therefore longer chains than the one he is using. No shortening the chain in this case will NOT prevent it from swinging so much. As you can see the bag is freakin 18 KG, thats 40 freakin pounds you dumbass. NOT A "REASONABLE WEIGHT" and the proof that you are wrong because it IS the lightness of the bag that's making it swing around so much. And YOU have the nerve to call ME ******. Like I said, youre a ***ing joke.

Nice try, but no. Since your so ****** you can't even comprehend what happened in this thread, let me explain it to you.
You said that bag that the thread starter was hitting looked like a "reasonably heavy bag" to someone who said the bag looks way too light. Yes you said reasonable "weight" but in this context you were referring to as reasonably heavy for a heavy bag.
Then I said you must not train at a real gym to think that such a bag is reasonably heavy.
Then you said that I'm ****** and that the bag was swinging around like it did from weak jabs from a 110 lber not because of the weight of the bag, but because of the length of the chain.
Then I said you're wrong because the thread starter just confirmed that is indeed a very light bag (40 lbs) and the reason why it was swinging so much.
Then your dumbass proceeded to act like you didn't say anything ****** and told the OP that he needs a heavier bag, after you've stated that the bag looks like its reasonably heavy.
I'm seriously ***ing done with your pea brained ***tarded ****. It's pretty clear your level of intelligence is barely over the ****** limit. I'm wasting my time arguing with you.

i watched your vid but didnt read all 5 pages, thou. if you just want to box, be more relaxed - 1st, 2nd - move your upper body, your hands and shoudlers should be more relaxed. and shoot more body and head punches. keep training
