400 isnt that many, but if you are doing sets of 50 thats pretty good.
So do you do 4 sets twice a day, 4 sets of 50 is a bit of a killer depending on rest period.
I can easy do sets of 25/30 40 max...I like to vary the press up though instead of standard, think someone else mentioned narrow/wide/diamond hand positions.
Explosive push ups are good aswell.
