400 is a good number to be doing.. keep increasing your set numbers and keep going higher.

evermind what some of these guys said.
Best advice in this thread so far, always aim to improve the numbers in your set, thats how you advance.

i wasnt being negative per se, i was just saying the thread starts: 'is 400 pushups impressive?' and i dont think anyone can deny that is showing off.
im saying best of luck to him, if he wants to do 400 a day thats his business

Does it matter if he's showing off? If he can do 4 sets of 50 then fair play to him. Also, what's wrong with push ups? There's no harm in doing them after a workout.

After a workout i tend to do 40x shoulder width, 40x wide width, 20 diamond push ups, then more shoulder widths until i tire.

To the thread starter, do you do 400 every day? If you do, do you ache the following day? If not, maybe try and aim for bigger numbers but sticking to your sets,

Like typing posts on an internet forum?

I don't care how i spend my time, but push ups isn't exactly time consuming though is it?

After a workout, it generally takes about 6 minutes max.

400.....thats nothing to brag about....What i would do if I were you is; go down to the Caprini Green and find one of those huge, thick, nasty, t-bone eating bitches that Mizzouman has been ****ing, you know, one that looks like she could swallow a chuck roast whole, and sit that ***** on your back before you start your push-ups.....If you can get that sweaty ***** off the ground then that would be something to be proud about.....cracker!

Mike Tyson did over 2500 push ups a day, he was probably showing off.

400 is fine, Try going for longer sets?

400 is good but not impressive. if you reach 1000 then i'd be impressed.

don't get discouraged bro do what you do and listen the postive posts posted. Mike Tyson did 2500 a day dam thats impressive, i know i heard Ron Lye in a interview on espn classic said when he was in a jail he would do about a 1000 a Day so some boxers do a enormous amount of push ups.
