DAMN. only 8s? I use 16oz. that way when I go in competition I will be surprised at how quick I am,its a huge difference with 2 to 4 oz's off a glove

It's a bad idea, first of all there's a bigger chance you'll hurt your hands while doing so, second your handspeed will not improve, and third you'll probably disform the handwraps if you're gonna hook the bag... So I suggest you get some big gloves for the bag

but wouldnt u get speed with bigger gloves? and if u compete even more speed? as in your not gettin an advantage to me if u use small gloves, cause when u compete if u do am. u will be using even bigger 1s and could be slower and get tired easily

I use the 16 oz gloves to build handspeed and endurance, but smaller gloves are good for getting rid of the baby knuckles and getting your hands hard. I mix it up sometimes, but generally use the 16 0z and then just punch the punching board to toughen up my knuckles.

Then when ur punching with lighter gloves on you'll notice a speed difference. Thats just common sense. Works kinda on the same principle as punching under water.
nah it aint, theres only gonna be 10oz difference, they will get used to punching slow, its a fact, why are bag mits so light?

I use 20 oz. gloves for drills and bag work, 16 oz. gloves for combat. There is a noticeable difference in the weight when I switch to my sparring gloves.
