  • any benefit from hitting the bag with just handwraps??

other then just getting skinned knuckles, is it a good idea to hit the bag with just handwraps from time to time?? if it is, should you hit it with full power?

I see absolutely no benefits what-so-ever. If you want light hands, use 10oz gloves or something.. but usually people use big gloves to; a) protect their hands, b) work their shoulders and arms, c) gets you used to sparring gloves.

just as a bit of a survey, what gloves do you guys use. I thought mine were 10oz,but looking at them, they look like 8oz. Develops fast hands, think, but lately I've been thinking heavy gloves will help me throw the hands faster. Any thoughts?

10 oz is fine for bag work, I use 12 oz for bagwork/mitts and 16's for sparring.

nope, keep 8oz gloves for the bags, ur arms will get used to throwing quicker
dont let anyone tell you heavy gloves will make you throw quicker when u put on light ones, its bull****.

Your knuckles will toughen up anyways, mines are like rocks, i can bite the skin on them and i dont feel much anymore lol, my knuckles always bruise up after pad work though

I use 14oz. gloves on the heavy bag..

^^Using bigger gloves on the bag will increase hand speed when you put on the lighter gloves... that isn't bull****
