BT reports that the Baldomir-Mayweather pay-per-view did 325,000 buys. What does this mean?

Ha. The implications, my witty friend, the implications -- on Mayweather's drawing power, on future negotiations, on whether customers have spent too much money on pay-per-views.

            Pretty Solid.
3 ppv's for Floyd and each over 300,000 thousand buys.
            Impressive.

His numbers are right up there with the top draws in boxing not named Oscar. This will probably do slightly less than Pac-Morales, but that is a fight with two superstars. Mayweather carried his card. Baldomir didn't add many buys to it. The number shows Mayweather is a good draw and he could probably break 400k-500k for an opponent that is considered a major threat and easily do 1 million+ with Oscar...

I talked to my brother the other day. I asked him if he got the Mayweather fight, he said he did. Well, i tell him what did he think of the fight. He said, "well, we were drinking and after the 9th round we left."

Then he asked me if i seen the countdown. I said yes. Then he said, "man, the countdown was baddass thats what got me hooked."

I then said, "i could have told you what was going to happen." I then asked him if he knew who Margarito was, he now says, yes. Where as before, say 2 months before when i asked him, he said no.

                Mayweather, take the Margarito fight.

You mean like Margarito, right? Its ok, for you to admit this, Margarito is a dangerous threat for Floyd.

No they arent, Mosley-Vargas 1 and 2 did more than that. The first did well over 400K buys. Most UFC events do higher buys than 300K. The fact that he's been a pay-per-view fighter since last year, and there has been no growth in his buy numbers shows legit problems with his ability to sell fights.
