Yeah but Hearns is what 6'1 or 6'2?
Legendary boxing skills and huge power for 147, beating him
would be a tall order for any 147 lb. fighter.

It should also be noted that the issue of Floyd's handspeed is minimalized because Leonard is quick on his feet and with his body. Flyod's handspeed means very, very little if he can't hit anything.

You two speak of height....the only reason Sugar beat Hearns was because Hearns had a GLASS JAW...Sugars BOXING skill dont compare to Hearns...

He'd have to put himself in harm's way to land anything. Hearns would eventually hit through his D and it would be goodnight Floyd. Imagine if that was Hearns landing those early overhand rights and not Baldomir. It hurts to even think about it.

Sorry, man. Hearns jaw wasn't what beat him. Leonard had a helluva hook; and Tommy was weight-drained. He overtrained for that fight and came in at 145...that, ultimately, combined with Ray's pressure, is what beat him.

...and some could consider the stoppage a bit premature.

Leonard by easy UD with a few knockdowns along the way.

That over hand **** would have land because Hearns didnt throw too many over hand..he a jab specialist...his jab destroyed boxers...Floyd would have made him play with his lighting speed/quickenss

I think it would be a great fight personally... I think Floyd's defense would be the difference...

It was his Jaw....against both Hagler and Sugar...weight drained did stop him from pounding sugars ass for 6 to 9 round, however you count it. He couldnt take too many chin checks...
