Sugar Ray Leonard fought some of the best welterweights ever known and impressive many. Lots of people grew up with Leonard and respect his skills a lot. Leonard brought speed, accuracy, heart, courage, toughness, technique, power, balance, stamina, ambition, and focus.

Mayweather is the best of his era and is still proving how he fights on his own level. Mayweather brings so many skills to the table. His highlights are speed, accuracy, courage, toughness, technique, balance, stamina, focus, evasion, and defense.

To me the only differences between the fighter was Leonard had the power, Mayweather has the defense. Defense always wins that battle 90% of the time so my pick is Mayweather is the most exciting 12 rounds of boxing ever witnessed.

not counting his ability to duck the best and the selection of class B opponents.

Put it simply, Everything Floyd can do, Leonard can do better
Leonard is more offensive oriented though.

Also, something many overlook, Leonard will get into Floyd's head and will break him down mentally
Floyd essentially is a leonard wannabe

You can't possible tell me there is someone as legendary and Duran and Hearns that Mayweather can fight but has not yet.

Their is not, but their is Margarito and for an easy fight, as Mayweather has said, he sure is avoiding him. Then you got these other contenders, which im sure Floyd would "probably beat" but its just like Roys situation, its all "ifs" untill he fights them. Cotto is going to be better at welterweight. Arum may hold Floyd two toughtest opponets, Margarito #1, and Cotto #2. If Cotto keeps developing his body shots he is going to be a very tough fighter to beat and Floyd don't like those body shots - who does right.

Leonard,Hearns would have beat Mayweather and Duran and Benitez too. And another Mexican, of that that era that Mayweather would avoid like the plauge is Pipino Cuevas.

                  SUGAR RAY LEONARD UD

A big talented fighter beats the 'smaller' talented fighter.

Leonard @ 5'10 managed to bag a title at light heavy. Its going to be very difficult for PBF ( 5'8'' ) to win a middleweight belt.

e.g. Mosley who is bigger than PBF only managed to be effective @154.

                  POINT: The BIGGER man wins.

You know where the fact is? A mayweather sr. fight. if uve ever seen any of his fights its quite obvious hes faster. Mayweather jr is not the fastest at 147, there are faster.
