He sat there because he realized he lost, not because he couldn't get up. He wasn't even that hurt in the end of the round, more exhausted and defeated mentally than anything. I doubt he even had a concussion.

PS He's not in la la land after that first knockdown. He immediately starts getting up (from what wasn't even that great of a punch to begin with) with little difficulty other than fatigue and rests on the rope. The ref looks into his eyes, sees that he is clearly fit to continue despite how tired or hurt he may look on the video (in other words, he is clear eyed, not concussed), and allows him to continue.Comment
