Sorry man I disagree, go back and watch the fight. Oscar was shoolin his ass. Just as Tito showed against Hopkins and Wright also, he can't deal with a good boxer and if he doesn't knock you out, he is completely one dimensional. Oscar's boxing movement and hand speed Tito had no answer for. Tito never hurt Oscar, and barely touched him the entire fight. the only reason Tito got close in the late rounds was because Oscar stopped fighting, and thats where he went wrong. I will agree that Tito got the W but you won't convince me that he beat him and Oscar definately has the better legacy.

The one fight i say oscar should of not won is the sturm fight but that's oscar fought for being way out of shape. The bottomline is oscar has way better legacy then tito and whoever think otherwise don't know crap about boxing.
The 2 wins that Vargas got after Tito destroyed him were against:

Wilfredo Rivera, who lost every time he stepped up the competition, then went on to lose against b-level opposition like Michael Lerma. Rivera, not known for his punching power KD'd Vargas if memory serves.

Jose Flores, who had 8 or 9 losses on his record and really shouldn't have been fighting for even a minor level belt.

Not exactly stellar opposition. Both fighters were tough and gave everyhing they had in the ring, but neither really brought all that much to bring to begin with.

      What happened after those wins?

If you think that Vargas was the same fighter after Tito, then it's most likely so you dont have to admit that DLH fought an all but shot version of him, and was losing on many peoples' scorecards before he got the KO.
I have to admit, though, that the KO punch was a thing of beauty. A friend said it was a lucky punch, but you could see DLH measure and fire all in the same breath.

Yet both fights are listed by many boxing insiders as some of the worst robberies in recent memory.

Your lack of ability to see where others might have valid opinions, even when they disagree with yours, marks you as someone who should never be taken seriously regarding boxing, and probably everything else as well.

Unfortunately, that's the way a legacy is defined. Because of his continued invovlement in boxing, DLH will be remember longer and by more people.

Within boxing, the true fans are too divided as to who was better inside the ring, so DLH will come out on because of his outside involvement. Fair? Not really, but little in life is.

Like I said earlier, I will give you the Strum fight, but I feel had Oscar taken him seriously and come in shape he would have easily outboxed him. That being said, I will make no excuses and agree that he shouldn't have gotten that decision. The Whittaker fight on the other hand was not contreversial. It was a close fight, that Oscar won. Whittaker didn't do anything but run around the ring and clown the whole fight. He never hurt Oscar. Oscar got an ugly win, but as I said you are never gonna look good against Whittaker.

For you to say that Vargas was shot when he fought Oscar is going a little far, the Trinidad loss was a tough loss but he was not shot by any means, and Vargas was still very good, I think the combination of the Trinidad loss and the DLH loss did him in not to mention never properly rehabbing his back injury.

I agree with you and I should've used the word close instead of controversial. I think that the Whittaker and Quartey fights where close and wont argue with someone who had the fight either way because I think justification can be made either way.

Sad but probably also very true. And also while Mike Tyson's name continues to echo in these and many other boxing forums for years to come, the Legacys of Holmes and Norton will fall by the wayside.

All well there are less tragic things in life. Atleast DLH kept the torch lit and has helped draw some attention back to boxing.

Oscar and it's not even close.

Trinidad never beat JCC end of story. That single handedly creates a legacy.

And DLH never beat Campas. Your saying that Tito's career is lacking to that of DLH's based on that fact that Tito didn't beat an over the hill JCC

Oscar beat Campas in 2003. Of course it was after he already had 5 KO losses on his record, whereas he was undefeated when he faced Trinidad.
