Oh yeah, if I was hugging on Castillo's nuts than I'd be a dumb **** like you and say Castillo didn't cheat. I look at what Castillo did as cheating whether he came in heavy on purpose or nut. I guess I could come over to your house and murder your whole family, and expect you not to get made as long as I pay my consequences.......... -
I'm not validating what Corrales did either because what he did was wrong. But you can't compare that to what happened with the scale.Comment

Like I said above, Is killing someone wrong? Isn't it cheating someone out of their lives? Please answer this with a yes or no.Originally posted by Left2bodyIf I had to choose between giving my opponent 10-15 seconds extra when he is knocked down or me be allowed to weight-in at a division above my opponent I will take the latter.
I can't believe you guys are holding spitting out a mouth piece as equivalent to hidding the fact that you are coming into a fight 1 division over your opponent.
Spitting a mouth piece out gives Corrales momentary respite. Castillo coming in at a different weight class gives him an enormous competitive advantage.
If you can't see the difference then logic obviously plays no role in your assesment.Comment

Both "different situations", both "Cheating." You can't say one is cheating and the other isn't because you feel the other cheated him more. They both broke the rules, and won when doing so.Originally posted by Knicksman20I'm not validating what Corrales did either because what he did was wrong. Originally posted by deuce_dropthere is no cheating by spitting out your mouthpiece, especially when a point is being taken away. saying it's cheating is the only way SORE LOSERS can express themselves.
the real cheater is the guy who can't make weight then has his ****ing DOCTOR try use his foot to lighten his weight on the scales. THATS ****ING CHEATING!
then to not make weight again and complain that corrales wont take the fight is absurd!
corrales is a stand up guy inside and outside of the sport of boxing, he doesn't go down that road of cheating, there ought to be more fighters with corrales'integrity.........
tell that to his wife

I doubt that coming in 3lbs over on the day of the weigh-in gave him an "an enormous competitive advantage".Comment

3.5lbs over does give someone an enormous edge. Ask Pac about fighting Morales at 132lbs instead of 130lbs. 138.5 is a jrWW not a LW.Originally posted by FibreOpticI doubt that coming in 3lbs over on the day of the weigh-in gave him an "an enormous competitive advantage".
False Analogy......please. Killing is wrong under what pretext, is a soldier killing another soldier in battle wrong? Is someone killing a rapist while defending themselves wrong?Originally posted by HendrixLoveLike I said above, Is killing someone wrong? Isn't it cheating someone out of their lives? The Boxing Community has spoken and even Caesar an acknowledge Castillo fan lamented at Castillo's lack of professionalism and writers, boxers and fans around the world came down on Castillo worse because they acknowledge the difference.Comment

This is not about who screwed who the worse. It's as if you don't wana look at what Corrales did as cheating only because of what Castillo did to him....Originally posted by Left2body3.5lbs over does give someone an enormous edge. By your logic killing is ok as long as your willing to pay the consequences(and under any circumstance you pay for it somehow).....and what's this "under what pretext", its as if your just trying to find more ways to excuse "cheating" like saying, spitting out your mouth piece is ok if the other fighter is doing it also, cheating is ok if your health is at risk, cheating is ok because your opponent is trying to rip your head off. What Corrales did is cheating like I said over and over again. Oh and about the writers that you say are talking negative about Castillo, there is also others who defended Castillo and didn't point the finger at him....****, even Corrales trainer is on Castillo's side, what does that tell you? Writers were also talking negative about what Corrales did in the first fight and also others who defended him, so that doesn't mean ****.

When you AGREE to weigh in at 135 pounds and you come in heavy, you are not cheating, you are in breach of contract. It is not cheating to be 138.5 pounds the day before because the fight does not have to go on. Once the bell sounds for the first round, tho, and a fighter spits out his mouthpiece to get 23 seconds of extra time, THAT, my friend is cheating.
I see the value of the tactic and I would also be willing to take a point deduction in order to make sure that I have no cobwebbs in my head and I can propperly defend myself, but that doesn't mean that the action is not cheating. The penalty for cheating, in this case, is to lose a point.
Also, you have to admit that Chico outweighed JLC on fight night because JLC was not allowed to rehydrate as much as he'd like to. He had to weigh in again prior to the fight and couldn't be more than 147 pounds (Chico was 149). That gave Chico a HUGE advantage that he was able to capitalize on by KOing JLC in the 10th. That is not cheating, either, since Castillo first breached the contract and Chico had the right to change it.Last edited by PRboxingfan; 09-15-2006, 04:18 PM.Comment
