When you AGREE to weigh in at 135 pounds and you come in heavy, you are not cheating, you are in breach of contract. It is not cheating to be 138.5 pounds the day before because the fight does not have to go on. Once the bell sounds for the first round, tho, and a fighter spits out his mouthpiece to get 23 seconds of extra time, THAT, my friend is cheating.

I see the value of the tactic and I would also be willing to take a point deduction in order to make sure that I have no cobwebbs in my head and I can propperly defend myself, but that doesn't mean that the action is not cheating. The penalty for cheating, in this case, is to lose a point.

Also, you have to admit that Chico outweighed JLC on fight night because JLC was not allowed to rehydrate as much as he'd like to. He had to weigh in again prior to the fight and couldn't be more than 147 pounds (Chico was 149). That gave Chico a HUGE advantage that he was able to capitalize on by KOing JLC in the 10th. That is not cheating, either, since Castillo first breached the contract and Chico had the right to change it.
Yeah and Corrales STILL fought on the inside after fully knowing Castillo could have had a little more weight on his body to put behind his punch. Just like Castillo should have know Corrales could have got his head straight after that time he got for spitting out his mouth piece. Both were exaclty the same and should not be looked at as if this fighter cheated out the other alot more....Great post PRboxingfan.

Yup. That was a great fight and Alvarez came in 3.25 pounds heavy. Finito took the fight to prove he was the man and I thought he won easily.

BTW, there is a big difference between 3 pounds for a 105-pound fight and a 135-pound fight.

Knowingly breaking a rule in order to gain an advantage is cheating. That is the definition and that is exactly what Chico did.

I like Chico; I think he's one of the best fighters below 147 right now; but, I still think that what he did was cheating.

If a fighter is about to go down and intentionally holds on to the ropes, he is cheating. If a fighter intentionally hits another below the belt, he is cheating. If a fighter spits out his mouthpiece to gain more time to recover, he is cheating.

          It's pretty simple, really.

having your doctor use his foot to lighten you on the scales is CHEATING.......plain and simple.

then to come in overweight twice, that's just plain disrespect all the way through.

not to mention that castillo was banking on corrales to take the fight anyways, like in their rematch, that was a desperate attempt to try and get any way with another foul. a form of cheating in my book.

either way it all goes down in controversy...........

hey, that's a private matter. i do not advocate or tolerate any kind of domestic violence, but you have to realize, a ***** will make a guy do the most craziest of things. plus who hasn't got into a fight with their girlfriend or wife and thought about knocking her head off, or even better her provoking you or him into a fight. they do that **** all the time. plus in almost any state on this country they always take the side of the female regardless if see started anything or not. and with that being said they usually always take the guy to jail, or both.

and what a guy can't make a mistake in life, it's not like he is a repeat offender in that matter, that's the only dirt you can bring up, something that he has paid his debt on. cheap shot and the only shot you got.

bitches make you crazy, like i said i don't advocate any of that mess, but i understand that a ***** can make you lose you mind!
