Toney has always been the best heavyweight in the world skill-wise, but he might just be the best heavyweight period. The biggest puncher couldn't take him out, couldn't do **** with him except in 2 rounds. Toney can beat any HW out there, and I'd give him a great chance against Wladimir. I know styles make fights, but Toney couldn't hurt Peter, yet he dominated him last night. Toney is way shorter than Wlad, but would it matter? I guess we'll never know because this sport is so corrupt as to screw a legend like Toney out of the business. I think I'm done with boxing for a while.

Toney was hurt everytime Peter landed with something significant.
But wahtever, the only thing that stands is the Peter won, Toney lost.

I wouldn't say that Toney dominated Peter because had he done that he would have got the decision. IMO, Peter cleary won some of the early rounds and definitely the last round.

What I will say about James Toney is, that he looked very sharp early on and into the mid rounds of the fight. Toney's punches were clean, precise, and had some power when he started to turn it on against Peter. And I think maybe the during 5-7 rounds he had Peter stunned several times and could have knocked him out if he had sustained that offense.

In the late rounds, James clearly started to slow down and as a result wasn't hitting Peter as good as he did earlier. At that point he looked very fatigued and the rounds could have gone to either fighter.

My point is, James Toney had Peter in serious trouble during the middle and the window was wide open for him to go for the KO.
