i wouldnt say that wlad struggled with peter. HE just got caught with some shots. But wlad controlled the fight with his left hand

Toney would have a really hard time with Wlad. Wlad would just back up or circle and use his reach to keep Toney at the end of his jab all night long. If Toney tried to get inside, Wlad would just grab onto him and hold until the ref broke them up. You know, the regular Steward heavy-weight plan.

Big toney fan, but kind of agree. Agaisnt the ropes last night Peter had the advantage. TOney was smart enough going into the fight to know that so he minimized his time there throughout teh fight. I'm afraid Vlad would muscle him into the ropes and punish him with heavy blows. Only thing is Vlad has no stamina, so he could fade.

yup,,,,glad someone knows how to score a fight. peter rocked toney badly more than once and toney;s punches just didnt have any power behind them. they didnt move peter and that cost toney the fight. the strength and power of peter bet toney. plain and simple

By that logic Vlad should have lost a decision to Peter because he was hurt and knocked on his ass 3 times. Peter hurt Vlad more often than Vlad hurt Peter so he should have gotten the decision. that's you're arguement, not mine.

He was doin better than Toney was late in his fight with Peter.

Toney lost maybe 4 rounds against Peter. Wlad lost maybe 3. But Wlad was floored 3 times. Toney was hurt once, and even then, he might have been playing possum. Though Wlad won his rounds more clearly, Toney was never in trouble of losing this fight unlike Wlad. Can't argue with that.

Wlad stunned peter very bad in the 12th and it was inching away from tko peter thats something toney didn't do is stunned peter bad.

I think Peter lost to both, but he lost to Wlad far more decisively.

Granted, Toney did not go down, but if you watch the fight again you will see that Peter was making a concerted effort to try not to hit Toney in the back of the head, even when it would have been a legal blow with Toney ducking into the shot as Wlad did.

All I wish is that a good trainer would get into Peter's camp and teach him how to box. If he was taught even just a few basics he could be something worthy of a championship belt rather than just a lumbering bear. He will never be Muhammed Ali, but he could at least be George Foreman.

Shots behind the head (if you have noticed by now) can do incredible damage, thus the reason why it is illegal.

For Toney: I really had nothing great to say about him because I can't stand what comes out of his mouth, but the man should really be considered the best POUND FOR POUND BOXER IN THE GAME. Why? because unlike all the other big name fighters that claim they are P4P the best (notably Floyd and Winky), they are not fighting guys that are 40+ pounds from your original weight, and hell, James is still probably only 168lbs of muscle. Everybody knows that it is more dangerous to fight at Heavyweight than any other division, so there it is.

funny how these toney nuthuggers cant get over the fact that toney just doesnt have enough power in his punches to beat strong heavyweights with a bit of skill. peter;s slap is harder than toney's 3 punch combinations

Toney might not be able to punch as hard as a heavyweight, but in my opinion, along with Chris Byrd, they have the biggest balls in boxing for fighting in a division that is way above their original.

I agree like toney or not, you got to respect the man for having a baldomir like chin. The question is can toney hold up with big big punchers like wlad and vitali? hmmmm

I call BS on that. Wlad won the fight decisively against Peter but Toney lost because there were a lot of close rounds that could have gone either way. I personally had it a draw against the two, whereas I had Wlad winning his fight against Peter. Sure, the discrepancy of the score cards was BS but it a loss is concievable.
