What is the REAL Reason You Want to See Lopez/Lomachenko II?

loma was coming on hard in the 2nd half...but he had to have known that at the halfway point he was behind by quite a bit....he had to have been aware that the 12th was a big round and could swing the fight....which is what has me perplexed....because despite coming on and basically winning most of all of the 2nd half the 12th round was teos and it wasnt even close...

how is it that a guy that was cruising in the 2nd of the fight had absolutely nothing and didnt even come close to winning the 12th round which was so crucial?....i wonnder

yeah i wouldnt mind a rematch...but im not gonna be upset if we dont get one

theyre are probably alot of hurt loma fans that want redemption or believe he was really hurt in the fight....its cool if we get it we get it....but i think its highly unlikely

Personally there are other guys I'd like Lopez to fight. And lomo should move down a notch in weight.

Okay, so there have been a bunch of threads since the fight demanding Lopez rematch Lomachenko or threads about Lopez being scared to rematch Lomachenko.

I just re-watched the fight on Saturday and to be honest, while it was a solid fight, it was far from a memorable or great fight. So I can't imagine anyone wanting to see the rematch because the action was so great and the rematch will be another barn burner.

Is the reason for wanting Lopez to rematch Lomachenko because some folks still haven't come to grips with Lopez beating Lomachenko? Is it because Lomachenko had a lot more success in the later rounds until the 12th round? Is it because both father and son talked so much crap before the fight and then went on and delivered with their performance?

What is it? Because it was Lomachenko's inept decision to take the rematch clause out of the contract just because Sr got in his head. That was an all time blunder on his and his team's part.

While I wouldn't mind the rematch at all, I just won't lose any sleep if we don't get it. I prefer to see Lopez with the other youngsters over the rematch. Lomachenko's excuses after the fight were endless and rivaled Wilder's after the Fury fight...Maybe not to that extent but it has been pretty bad.

End of the day, Lomachenko faced a green fighter who had only gone past the 7th round one time in his career and wasn't able to capitalize for whatever reason. I think he blew his chance and I don't foresee a rematch happening unless it becomes a big money fight......Which it won't. If Lopez wants a big PPV fight, that will be against either Tank or Garcia.

I have also re watched the fight and it was hard to find moments of CLEAN, effective work from Lopez. He landed a lot of his points on elbows and sloppy body work, I never saw him hurt lomachenko or even come close.

Loma on the other hand seemed to be more dominate in his rounds that he won, with some hard head snapping shots. I also cannot for the life of me figure out why loma didn't throw a punch for the first 4 rounds...

He likely could have been injured like he says---it was a 1-3 round fight but I believe if loma starts early he can hurt and beat Lopez.

It is also weird how seemingly frightened Lopez seems about a rematch.

I'm disappointed in him big time. My experience with Teo was : didn't like him thought he would be exposed, then he blew out Commey but still didn't like him but was paying attention. Then he beat Loma and the 12th round especially won me over even as a Loma fan. I was really looking forward to seeing what he would do now with this confidence and boost. I thought he was kinda fighter that would want to take the rematch and dominate and rub salt in the wound from how he was acting before it. What was it he was saying, the takeover or something? But yeah, now he doesn't want to fight anybody it's ridiculous.

Directly after the Loma fight I was of the opinion that he just proved us wrong, had a good game plan and came to win and regardless of any stories of injuries that he would come to roughly the same result if it was ran back. His behaviour since though has me doubting my change of heart and thinking that maybe it really was a lucky night for him/off night for Loma. He had the perfect chance to earn a lot of fans and respect had he behaved differently in these months especially as Loma took the loss so damn badly and lowered himself in many fans views. Oh well.

To answer the thread I would like a rematch if only to see if Teo really is the real deal after him now talking me into doubting him, or how Loma would approach the rematch knowing what he knows about Teo now. Though really what I would prefer happen is that while Lopez is talking trash and fighting no one, that Loma tries to fight Haney taking whatever cuts to pay or concessions needed to make the fight. Then he can force a rematch with Teo if he wins for unification and have a chance to get his belts back or Haney will beat him and Teo will be forced unify with Haney as people will compare the wins (who beat Loma better).

I like Loma and I think he figured Teo out during the first 6 rounds and would win if they fought again.

Only one of those reasons is the REAL reason. The other is some bullshit I made up as a cover for the REAL reason.

I can't believe Loma really thinks he won or that it was that close, considering he hardly threw a punch the first 6 rounds. Maybe something was lost in translation, and the cards were pretty bad to him considering he was the 'champ', but yeah I'm shocked.

any reasonable fighter was probably thinking headed into the 12th "this is close....i need this round...this could make or break the fight"..

and with that being said loma didnt/couldnt do anything in the final round....it wasnt even close...lopez controlled all of it.....

which makes me wonder....was teo the one believing he had it in control and slowed down in the 2nd half of the fight in order to preserve himself? was loma really coming on and yet somehow lopez was able to pull it together and thwart that momentum in the 12th?

left me puzzled because loma seemed to be taking control of the 2nd half of the fight
