What promoter is going to risk millions securing this fight on a boxer that has shown not to be a true professional? He pissed hot gets stripped. He comes in overweight on the scales(big time overweight) gets stripped again. What boxer or promoter is going to waste money on an undisciplined fighter like this?
That's why you put penalties or stipulations in the contract so that fighter or his promoter will have to pay out should something like that happen. Obviously Benavidez's promoter believes in him and is willing to risk it if they want this fight, and since their side has shown a propensity for being unprofessional in missing weight or other things then they should be the ones to fork over expenses and compensation should something happen that would derail the fight.

I think Plant has a great chance to beat Canelo. Will he get a fair shake on the cards, unlikely. But on a real scorecard, I got Plant with a good chance winning 7-8 rounds. I saw Truax land some nice right hands, if that's someone like Canelo can Plant take it and adjust? Unknown, but Plant is pretty slick and I would much rather see Plant than Yildrim or whoever that guy is with all the losses.

You got to be honest with the universe here, Canelo been fighting either broke up fighters or nonproven euro's on the world stage with trinkets trying to manipulate the recordbooks of history.

Jermall Charlo To David Benavidez: You Got To Get Vaccinated For Me To Fight You

        February 4, 2021:

By Aragon Garcia: Jermall Charlo says that David Benavidez must prove that he’s been given the COVID 19 vaccination as a precondition for him to fight him.

Charlo says he got his vaccination already, so now it’s up to Benavidez to get one too if he wants to fight him. The requirements that Jermall has for Benavidez to get a fight against him makes you wonder if he’s serious about making that match.

Charlo (31-0, 22 KOs) says he’s willing to move up from 160 to take on the unbeaten WBC super middleweight champion Benavidez (23-0, 20 KOs), but he’s going to have to show proof that he’s been given the vaccination.

Jermall must not know that it’s practically impossible to get vaccinated unless your 75 and found a place that is willing to give it to you.

Benavidez probably won’t be able to get vaccinated in time to face Jermall in the first half of this year, but that might be what he’s hoping for.

“Get that David Benavidez on the line. I’ve been trying to call him, but he hasn’t answered,” said Jermall Charlo on social media. “Someone tell Benavidez to call me right now and we’ll set this s***.

“They don’t want to fight me. That’s a little boy,” Jermall said of the 24-year-old David Benavidez. “What is he? 23 or 24? I’ll hit him with some s*** he never been hit before.

“You mother f*** are ******ed. Remmber the s*** what happened with [Erickson] Lubin. The mother f**** was too young and too dumb.

“He ran right into that s*** [from Jermall’s twin bother Jermell Charlo]. It snapped his mother f**** neck. He [Benavidez] could be my son. I could raise your a**.

They’re kids. I’m not fighting nobody under 25, and I’ not fighting nobody that don’t take the COVID vaccination.

If you don’t get the vaccination, I’m not fighting you. You have to get vaccinated for me to fight you. Boxing is already watered down.

You want me to be watered down, broke and sick? Hell no. Y’all got to take the vaccination.

Get vaccinated, and have it on paper and bring it to the ring. Yeah, y’all going to have to get that shot before you can get in the ring with me.

Why wouldn’t I want my opponent to get vaccinated? These are my opponents. All my opponents must get vaccinated. I’m vaccinated already. I already got the vaccination.

Benavidez, 24, still needs to win his fight next month against contender Ronald Ellis (18-1-2, 12 KOs) on March 13th at the Mohegan Sun Casino, Uncasville.

If Charlo wants to fight in April or May, that will not give Benavidez much time for him to recover and rest from his fight against Ellis in March.

Does Charlo think he’s going to be the A-side in the promotion and be the one that’s calling all the shots?

I don’t think that’s going to fly with Benavidez because he’s not going to want to treat Charlo like he’s the king. When Charlo moves up to 168, he’ll be the newbie and will be starting from scratch.

“If I got to 168, I’m still going to put my 160 belt on the line. If you want it, you can get it. Hey, Jose [Benavidez] shut your a** up. Put your brother on the phone.

“Benavidez, put your big brother on the phone. I’m trying to get Benavidez’s family on the line. His daddy was going to call me and s***. I’m waiting on the call. I’ll talk to him.

“What’s up, pop? You want your son to fight me? What’s up, David Benavidez’s daddy? Let’s fight. Request me, give me the request. I’m trying to add his pop,” said Benavidez.

If Charlo is going to move up to 160, he might as well vacate his WBC trinket and forget about that secondary belt.

Canelo Alvarez is the one with the WBC title that counts in the fans’ eyes with his Franchise belt. Charlo needs to give up his WBC belt and make his move to 168 permanent. No excuses.

If anyone is lucky its the guy that holds a title, not the one who used ******* and failed to make weight to lose a title TWICE! Go back to your pink tutu a ballet slippers.

I simply observe the facts. Plant is a good boxer but I feel he's not strong enough to keep Canelo off him. But if he wins, I'll be happy. I just don't believe it will happen, that's all.

Now go call names to someone else - and learn some spelling while you're at it.
T, stop clowning oh boy! Lol. Straight up, when has Nelo fought someone with the lateral movement of Plant? Mayweather. Don't sleep on Plant bc he's still fresh in the game. Dude not only has the amateur experience, but he got that slick a$$ hood pass, the latter wasn't free either. I give him a decent chance. If not Plant, who out of the super middle crop has what it takes?
Andrade is the only one I believe came hit super middle and five Cinnabon a problem

It means Plant will continue to fight bums until Canelo fights him.

I blame all of this on Canelo. He shouldn't have exposed his plans. Now all of them (160lbs to 175lbs) are just going to take it easy until Canelo chooses them to be his opponent for a big payday.

And now all of Plant's sitting around occasionally making defenses against subpar competition will pay off when his boss tells him when to sell that IBF belt and how how much he is going to beat him up for it.

I would agree (in part) with you, but after having seen Plant last Saturday I spotted many flaws, which the stronger Canelo will probably exploit. Even Kovalev was outboxing Canelo, until he finally caught him. I see the same happening with Plant, who has good technique and movement but I feel is not THAT strong on the long run. Reversing your question, who has Plant fought to make me believe he's such a fantastic fighter? How many people here gave a good chance to Callum Smith vs Canelo? Then look at what happened.

To think that Plant had a sub par night against Truax is crazy my friend. If he did mess up his hands, coming from someone who actually boxed, he did quite well.
What other flaw did you see besides the left hand being low? Intrested to hear this
