Doesn’t need to do anything to demonstrate anything. He’s got a belt. Canelo and Reynoso have said time and time again they’re after the belts. Plant will get the fight and he knows it.

Canelo is so dominant we’re taking about two or three fights down the line now, with the presumption he’s going to mop up everything that comes beforehand.

He has done nothing to demonstrate he should get the fight over Charlo,Ggg, etc. in September,he ducked twice already & thinks he calls shots & deserves a fat paycheck to cross the street(&worse yet hes boring af & stinks up the joint when he fights,I wouldn't complain if he faced Canelo though, it'd be a tuneup).

It was “talked about.” The second Plant turned down as he didn’t wish to fight on short notice as has been custom with Canelo and I even like Canelo.

I’d even question your true love of the sport if you call him “boring.” If that’s the case then you either hate watching a pure boxer with great skills or are not satisfied unless every fight ends in a KO.

You assume too much. I watched Canelo GGG in a movie theatre with my daughter because I love boxing. I’ve been watching it for 40 years. Yes I have favorites and with respect to Plant/Canelo I’m a fan of both. It truly doesn’t matter to me who wins this fight. I have no stake in this game. However, implying a career elite skill boxers are “ducking” is false and ill call it as I see it. I like May too but don’t get it confused that he fought all elites in their prime.

He was interested at undisputed at 160, all he needed was the WBO belt if I am not mistaken. What was the reason the fight with Andrade did not happen and instead he fought Kovalev?

Canelo didn't want to fight Andrade period. Andrade was asked at the last minute by Matchroom a few weeks before the Kovalev deal was done if he was willing to fight Canelo at a low price (millions less than Jacobs got) and Andrade immediately agreed because he didn't want to miss the opportunity and figured he would make up the money on the rematch if he beat him.

Within a few days Golden Boy announced a deal with Kovalev instead. I don't think they expected Andrade to take the low offer! Then they didn't know what to do so they jumped up to 175 instead for an easier fight.

Word is that Canelo got several million dollars less for Kovalev than he was offered by DAZN to fight Andrade!
