To think that Plant had a sub par night against Truax is crazy my friend. If he did mess up his hands, coming from someone who actually boxed, he did quite well.

I noticed that he took several hard blows by Truax in spite of the latter being slow as molasses. Perhaps he was underestimating him, I don't know. Look, I'm not telling that Plant will be knocked out 100%, but I feel that to beat Canelo you must HURT him, not trying to outbox him. I can't imagine Plant managing to do that, whereas I see Canelo beating his arms and body bad, as he did with Smith. However, I also think that Plant is better than Smith...

Smith, Plant, Canelo and a multitude of fighters were always in the gym last year through out the pandemic keeping in shape and keeping busy. There's a ton of pictures on social media of these guys training through out last year, and the Canelo vs Plant, vs Smith were fights that promoters were trying to put together all of last year. But when it comes to signing a contract, everyone wants to say these guys had Short notice. Give me a break, these dudes were already training, already knew Canelo was looking for an opponent, it's not short notice, that's the excuse fighters and some fans want to use, and if it was so called " Short notice" for Plant and Smith, if that's the excuse you want to use, it's also short notice for Canelo as well, it's a two way street, not one way. I'll believe Plant when he signs the contract for September if Canelo gets passed his next two fights.

Like I mentioned in another thread, Caleb is somehow claiming Feb-May was too short of a turnaround for him yet Canelo is fighting on the schedule as we speak. Also, Canelo was in the same boat as those guys in his last fight, training while being uncertain about his opponent because it wasn't until early November that his litigation with Golden Boy was settled and that's when he approached the other champs to seal a deal. This short notice claim is just an invented hater narrative.
