Funny the writers don´t mention the real killer of the division, David Benavidez. David smokes Plant with no problem. His running, hugging, weak jabs and " beautiful moves " won´t be enough to stay away from Benavidez. David´s last two oponents, Dirrel and Angulo, both would hurt and even beat Plant. Benavidez would beat Mike Lee, Feigenbutz and Truax in the same night.Comment

"Caleb Plant, the man who many are saying will be boxing’s next can’t miss superstar" well he is already 28 so I doubt he is going to somehow magically surpass what took Canelo almost a decade to accomplish.
This whole line em up and knock em down is a joke. Maybe Plant should say that after he knocks someone out/down. Plant is slick and has good defense but he looks to be better at range and when it comes to close quarters his defense is not as good and that is when boxers like Benavidez and Canelo will hurt you.Comment

Caleb Plant
Caleb Plant’s performance Saturday night in Los Angeles left a sour taste in my mouth. Plant, (21-0. 12 KOs), who won every round against Caleb Truax(31-5-2, 19KOs) on the judge’s scorecards convincingly as Plant compiled 120-108 victory but, Plant did not look impressive, Plant the current IBF super middle champion, put on a boxing clinic against Truax as he was able to throw punches at all angles with really no response by Truax. Truax, a gritty boxing veteran who has fought better competition in his 14-year career, compared to Plant, looked old and depleted and had no answer for Plant’s combination of punches. Don’t get me wrong Plant is legit, one of boxing’s rising stars, and looking for a big-money match against Canelo Alvarez, however, at this point in Plant’s career that’s a fight he probably won’t win. Even though Plant schooled Truax in the ring, he didn’t get the KO and really never had Truax hurt by any means. Plant, who has elite hand speed and throws an array of punches, should've had Truax out by the sixth round. My question is why let a slick veteran like Truax stay in the fight round after round? I didn’t see the urgency by Plant, or really the hungriness and ruthlessness to take out Truax. This could be a problem in future matches for Plant, as his level of completion will get better in the next few fights, which could include a possible unification bout with Canelo.Comment

Jermall Charlo and Danny Jacobs need to get more vocal and start calling out fighters like Plant. Jacobs would be a good matchup, he can counter-slick Plant and has enough pop to keep Plant honest. Jermall is way too chilled - his prime will be over before it even began at this rate.Comment
