Sorry plant but only reason you will ever get a shot at Canelo is the ibf title. If it wasn’t for that belt, you wouldn’t warrant a shot at the king. You suck my guy

I'm a big Plant fan. But honestly, he still gets hit too much. And this is against C level guys. Against Uzcategui, his face was busted up, against Truaux, he got touched enough to where if that was Canelo or Benavidez, he would have a big problem on his hands. Canelo is built like a bull, but Plant isn't enough of a matador to control Canelo. He would disregard anything Plant was doing, wouldn't respect it. His neck is like a fire hydrant, his legs like tree trunks. All his shots will feel like bricks. And they would find Plant's face and body with no problem. Canelo will out jab Plant, as he does most of his opponents. He's also very elusive and seasoned. In the last few years, who has really put hands on him? No one. Plant vs. Benavidez would resemble Pep vs. Saddler. A smooth boxer without enough to keep a tall, strong, rangy aggressive two fisted puncher off him. Benavidez isn't Uzcategui, who landed plenty of hard shots on Plant. Benavidez is a wrecking ball with a high ring IQ. Even if Plant fixed all his mistakes and had more experience, he isn't yet strong enough to gain their respect. And he's not yet elusive enough to avoid being repeatedly hurt by these guys for 12 rounds. My honest opinion

Plant is a good kid, an okay boxer. This is the problem with Americans, right away putting them in a pedestal! Plant is tailored perfect for Canelo, he is lanky guy who will be eating Canelo’s body shots all night long. After the fight is over then Americans will start taking $**** on how they knew Plant wasn’t ready, and start trashing Canelo. America liles to make monsters out of American and European fighters, just like they did with The Russian GGG and the supposes boogie man of boxing Errol Spence.

The people on here saying he suck,

Absolutely don’t know a dam thing about boxing however there are levels to the game. Canelo is at a very high level and does just about everything Plant does just as well or better. Plant showed better energy in the latter rounds this time out and Canelo has tired when faced with better competition. Canelo puts combinations together just as good, works the body a helleva lot better. Also avoid and roll with punches better and I like Plant but he has height, no power, combinations and good ring generalship or IQ. Canelo has advantages in competition, power, good pressure and will win after some challenges. Plant not ready! The most avoided guy is DB who no one calls out.

Switch the name around from Plant to Mayweather in this masterclass performance and Plant therefore becomes the grand boxing wizard of all time. Boxing isn’t dying because of boxing. Boxing is dying because of its no nothing fan base.
Most of them arnt boxing fans, their ethnic fans of a certain group of fighters or individual fighters and therefore given to extreme emotional ties. Which makes them zealots. Don’t expect zealots to be able to rationalise like mature men. The same emotional man fans that have taken to hating on plant are the same boy band teenage girl like fans who had no problem with Smith, Kovalev (at that stage of his career), and Fielding. And they have REALLY turned up their game on plant as well, that’s because he is now perceived as a rival for Canelo.

Eh, going 12 with a past it fighter while not even attempting to put him away is sad, especially after all the supposed anger Plant had towards Truax cause of some lame tweet 6 years ago and the fact that Plant kept repeating he was going to put on a show and stop his opponent. The fight was a dud. Plant never put his foot on the gas while Truax was there to be hit, literally ALL NIGHT. It was almost as if Plant expected Truax to kneel after a few rounds.

I wasnt too excited at Saul/Smith fight, but AT LEAST Saul looked like he was trying to hurt Smith and you could see the hard punches Alvarez threw throughout the fight.

At this point, I see Saul putting Plant in his place and potentially knocking him tf out, if not comepletely dominating him.

I understand what your getting at but someone like plant shoulda hat traux out of there. The performance would of been more impressive if it was a fighter of higher caliber. Plant was a 30-1 favorite after all
