It’s interesting how many people call themselves boxing fans yet the only thing supposed “fans” look for today and everyday is a KO. Forget if someone wins a complete masterclass performance in a 12-0 runaway. Forget the fact if said fighter displays elite defense and gets hit a total of 47 times in a 12 round PROFESSIONAL fight. It’s all about that KO. Want to know the reason boxing is a dying sport? Read the thread above me. It’s a dying sport because its own “fans” can’t see a beautifully boxed match.

Switch the name around from Plant to Mayweather in this masterclass performance and Plant therefore becomes the grand boxing wizard of all time. Boxing isn’t dying because of boxing. Boxing is dying because of its know nothing fan base.

Alot of people are knocking Plant and dont give him any credit for hand speed, footwork, boxing IQ or ring general ship. I do think he loses to Canelo but not the 1 sided fight people make it out to be. Plant has enough tools in his tool box to beat Canelo IMO I dont know that he WOULD pull it off but I do think its possible. Give the guy his just due.

Caleb did not give a poor performance. He dominated Truax -- beat him every round. Plant is a slick boxer with lots of movement and that is what he does in every fight. Unfortunately for him, he does not have elite level power, and that is what it will take to keep Canelo and even Benavidez from taking him out. To be fair to Plant, and by way of explaining why he did not knock Truax out, he did say his hand was injured early in the fight. I am skeptical about that, but we shall see if he provides evidence of a broken hand or injury from a physician.

Plant doesn't really gave to "make a case" other than being the ibf title holder. Providing he remains that through until September, and canelo gets last Saunders, then the fight is his!

There is much in what you say. Plant does have great boxing skills and displays good defense, but Mayweather displays those skills against the best of his generation every time out. Caleb Plant has not shown that because he only fights second and third-tier fighters. Lots of good boxers display great skills against weak opposition and then look ordinary against great fighters. That is fairly common in boxing.

I don't know what any of these people are talking about...Caleb Plant is CERTAINLY going to duck Canelo....the look on his face tells me even he knows he's 2 or 3 classes down from canelo.....he'll either price himself out with silly demands only a bum would make...or he'll fake injury and claim he's not ready. I can see this a hundred miles away...LOL

Mayweather NEVER would have taken so many clean right hands so what are you talking about here?? Lolol

47 punches landed in a 12 round professional bout. 47....

It doesn’t matter if they were all uppercuts...47
