I don't think you understand that this is not back in the day.

Back in the day fighters fought 4 to 8 times a year. An exhibition was no big deal.

In the days of fighters fighting once or twice a year, and fighters are ducking and marinating more than ever, no boxing fan gives a PHUCK about no exhibition fights.

You might not care but considering the massive fanbases that both the Pacquaio and Garcia camps have, there is a very good chance that a lot of fans would buy ppv for this fight if it becomes a reality.

Ryan Garcia with his mostly younger social media savvy 7.5 million followers on his instagram account will attract a different demographic from Pacquaio's more traditional older fanbase so a potential match between the two has the potential to attract a lot of eyeballs from totally different fanbases.

All the speculation and trial balloons are coming from the Garcia camp who are trying to garner interest for this potential fight.

The only comment Pacquaio has said on his media account so far that might be in response to Garcia's trial balloon, was noncommittal.

As for Floyd, he is a known ducker. He could have fought Pacquaio multiple times even when he was an active fighter and made millions of dollars, but he refused time and time again, just like he is doing now.

The all time greats back in the day fought each other multiple times sometimes in rubber matches after each won one fight each. We never get to see that in their generation because Floyd didn't want to risk his undefeated record.

We are probably even going to see Mike Tyson fight Evander Holyfield again and they are in their 50's already and both fighters retired too.

Please post the quote from Pac's team that said it was a done deal or close to being done. Every comment I have read that this fight is a done deal has come from Garcia's camp.

This is borne out by Pac's only statement on social media about it so far.

The only reason this rumor is getting any traction is because McGregor lost last week so the Garcia negotiations couldn't have started before that and this type of negotiations usually take a long time to finalize. The Pacquaio camp was fully focused on fighting Connor before he lost.

This entire speculation is a trial balloon from the Garcia camp to entice Pacquiao to fight him. If there is enough interest from the public, it certainly can become a reality, but none of the details have been finalized including the so called exhibition fight rules that the Garcia camp has been spouting.
