Smart guy! Why would he go fight someone he didn't know and who never attacked his land?

What are you talking about you clown?

Ali was told what to say and do by the NOI. Go do some research.

It was an unjust war and the Vietmanese suffered greatly. It was a war between two world powers fought in a country foreign to both of them. History proved Ali right. Those kids that died didn't have to.

He wouldn't have had to fight in the war. He most certainly would have been giving boxing exhibitions for the troops like so many patriotic boxers did in the War.

Barney Ross and many other fighters actually went to war to fight for the homeland. Some may remember the movie "Monkey on my Back" which told his story of his war activities , wounds, and drug addiction, because of them. He was a hero.

For almost the first time, I agree with you, although not about Tyson. THAT was an obvious scam.

Further to what I wrote ,answering Pugilist Tom, both Sugar Ray Robinson and Joe Louis "went to war" to serve their country. They served by giving exhibitions, which were much appreciated. Barney Ross went as a fighting soldier. But he was retired by then, no longer a champion. Yet he also could have given exhibitions.....

America got it's ass kicked in Vietnam and rightfully so because they had no business there (much like most of the places they have presence).

They were on the wrong side of history and you're just wrong and ignorant.

Some of the clowns in here disrespecting Ali man. You guys are pathetic, and completely uneducated.

What Ali did was one of the bravest and most honourable things any sportsman has done.
