Golovkin vs. Jacobs Still in Serious Negotiations, Says LoefflerRuiz asked for the fight with AJ. Haymon didn't think Ruiz was in his major plans. Had he denied Ruiz the opportunity he would have spoken about it. Haymon didn't want that.
Jacobs was with Matchroom. That's why he got the fight. Not Haymon.
Floyd took Cotto and Canelo because they were ripe for the picking the way Floyd liked. Nothing else. Only when big guarantees for the victory are in place do they make moves.
Where else was Manny going to go to get Welter's? Use your head. Manny knew Haymon would block those fights otherwise. He was hoping Manny was far too gone for Thurman to take advantage. Oops again.
How many fights did Mikey have with PBC? He's now with DAZN. Mikey was there only because... Yep, you've guest it. Just the way PBC like it to be.
Who cares about the rest of the slops in your post. Haymon is hoping to catch Rigo at this late stage so he can fake a star like he does. Sorry, but he doesn't create stars, just frauds and cowards who stack the deck.
November 10, 2016:
According to Tom Loeffler, the managing director of K2 Promotions, he is still attempting to make a fight between middleweight ruler, Gennady Golovkin (36-0, 33KOs), and mandatory challenger Danny Jacobs (32-1, 29KOs).
"We're still making progress, still speaking with Al(Haymon) and still trying to work out a deal that's fair for both fighters. I think it's a great fight, it's the number one middleweight versus the number two middleweight. So our goal is to work out a deal and not go to a purse bid. So hopefully we'll have something done in the near future,'' Loeffler tells Boxingscene.com.

I really don't know howI thought Thurman retired years ago. Aint he way past his time? Didnt he come out of retirement to lose to Pac ? That was a long time ago. How is he ranked so high nowdays anyhow with all the great talent in the division? At this point forget him fighting and losing to Ugas and Ennis. I don't even see Thurman getting past Omar Figueroa or Rashidii Ellis. (Someone make a fight with Speedy. I gotta see if he's for real.)
I mean we are being told "Oh he only lost to Pacman" blah blah blah, but facts is Thurman hasn't done anything in the last 3 years, his last notable win was against Danny Garcia (Who has done nothing at 147).
And then he wants a massive payday to fight Crawford, in a fight that we all know he would lose, and when you look at the numbers he wouldn't be able to generate any sort of revenue, enough revenue to pay him what he wanted, enough to pay Bud what he is contracted to get from Top Rank.
But people want Top rank to pay him over the odds for what? He tried to freeze out spence, and now it has back fired on him. He hasn't fought in almost 2 years, but he somehow feels entitled asking for ridiculous sums of money....GTFOH with your BS demands, go and make a genuine fight and win well, then come back with a reasonable demand.Comment

Why do you keep mentioning Wilder-Fury like it wasn’t a cherrypick when we all wanted Wilder-Joshua? A good fight with a non-PBC fighter is a blue moon occurrence, like I said. You have to corner them or pull the wool over their eyes, get an upset when they think you are weak, shot and done like Fury did. GRJ’s best names are Lomachenko (TR) and Joseph Diaz (GBP), and like Jacobs he obviously doesn’t subscribe to the PBC route like Tank, Wilder, Spence, Charlo etc and this is evident in their records, fought no one of note outside of PBC. Don’t get all cringe on me neither, keep your emotions under control. The thing really hurting is the sport and fanboys like you aren’t helping.Wilder vs. Joshua didn't happen, but Wilder vs. Fury fought twice, and very well might fight a third time too! Tank vs. Loma did not happen, but GRJ vs. Loma did! Canelo is his own man, and does things on his own time! Charlo, Plant, or Benavidez will fight Canelo in 2021, book it! Meanwhile Arum is offering Porter $1 Million dollars! Crawford will be leaving in 2021, book that too! Oh, by the way, Ryan Garcia's Father said that Tank vs. Garcia is looking real good! I know that hurts! You don't wanna see that! Lol!Comment

Unfortunately there are some out there that promote the notion that a fighter must somehow be controlled and have a boss. I find it generally from those who want to feel as though an athlete is dumb and is only wealthy because of of physical traits.trust me man...theres a certain percentage of fgts who will never admit anything positive pertaining to a pbc fighter
tank has sold 12k in tix in two different cities...has been main support to a floyd ppv that did over 2 million buys...headlined his own cards and has a ppv all by age 26....hes constantly getting called out by all the names in the division because they all know hes the biggest name in the division
and youre right...when there was alot of money/good deal on the line for a haymon fighter he let them go elsewhere and make itComment

I wasn't down on Teofimo's, or Davis's performance's against Nakatani, or Gamboa these aren't easy fighters to beat. Those are really good points that you make, in regards to those fights. Maybe I didn't express myself clearly, what I said was that Thurman's best day's are behind him, not that he was a gate keeper. It appears he might never win another title again in his career, he's just not as sharp as he once was. He's also catching to many punches ias witnessed n his last to fights. A clear indicator that his skills are eroding, that said I did give give him credit for having a warriors heart. Heart is the last thing a fighter loses, he has lost a step, and some power in his punch. The last time he knocked out an opponent was over 5 years ago, missed all of 2018 due to injuries/surgery, and hasn't fought in over a year. He's only 32, but he's an old 32 in regards to his current skill set's, his body is breaking down. Those are my thoughts respectfully, on Kieth Thurman's status at this juncture of his career.while i agree...im not sure i agree hes at gatekeeper status yet...hes lost one fight lol....even if he sc****d by lopez...that was almost 2 years out of the ring off an injury....he lost to pac but it was entertaining and close.....its not like he got blown out or knocked out....yeah pac is old...its still hard to tell just how good pac is right now....but i dunno the term "Gatekeeper" is harsh....hes 32 with one loss...id have to see another loss or two before he gets to that status
guys put stock often too much into recent performances....everyone was down on teo after fighting nakatani....then hed ko'd commey but they still thought "loma is going give him a lesson and make him regret this"......tank was garbage after taking awhile to beat gamboa despite having little trouble in the fight(yes i know gamboa was injured)...but haney couldnt stop him...im just not ready to write keith offComment

This is the type of response that is cringeworthy to me. It’s as if you keep searching for angles to look at the facts in support of an opinion you simply can’t justify. Then, in fear of factual rebuttal you project some fake emotional response from others as if that makes what you’re saying better. Why do you keep mentioning Wilder-Fury like it wasn’t a cherrypick when we all wanted Wilder-Joshua? Wilder Fury was not a cherry pick no matter how many detractors make the presumption that Wilder thought Fury would be out of shape. Two tune ups and a whole year plus of training for the most elusive big man boxing has ever seen? Fury was ready and Wilder knew he would be.
When the money is there, cross promotional fights happen. No one thinks PBC or the fighters under that banner are perfect, but it’s unarguable that the PBC construct is better for the fighters and has given the fans the better fights overall throughout the years. It’s also unarguable that Bob Arum has prevented a multitude of fights that we as fans have wanted to see. So help me understand why PBC is under attack here when the statement of Thurman aligns with statements made by every other PBC fighter that has sought a fight with a Top Rank fighter regardless of weight class.Comment

Wilder Fury was a cherrypick. You sound ******. In what world is trying to force an obese man who hasn’t fought in 3 years straight into a fight with a champ not a cherry pick? Fury did right by managing to squeeze in 2 fights, but he still had to somehow get back into form within half a year. That’s a cherrypick. I’m not bothering to read the rest of your drivel if you think that was some legitimate fight. This is the type of response that is cringeworthy to me. Learn about how the sport works, then you’d know that was grade-a, to the tee cherrypick. When you want your guy to win you pick’em when they’re weak.Last edited by SplitSecond; 01-19-2021, 08:35 AM.Comment

Regardless of what you feel about his resume, Tank is a boxing star. Unfortunately for you, a fighters resume has little to no bearing on stardom. Loma and Crawford were arguably the two best p4p fighters in boxing but aren’t stars because they didn’t find the eyes, minds, or hearts, of casuals. Tank did, thus his profitability while fighting bums as you say.The fact Tank can sell tickets for bums and shot fighters goes to show the low standards you have in the States.
After Pedraza, he spent over 3 years in the wilderness. He then wants to fight a finished Mares who has been out of the ring for years and coming off a defeat. When that's a no go, he brings in the smaller Cruz to guarantee victory. That is beyond pathetic. Tank has done nothing but duck the top fighters and stack advantages in his favour.
Haymon doesn't have 1 legit star. They're all jokers who have done nothing. The fights he does make come with serious asterisks. Which ones don't? I'll happily correct you like always.
How can a guy draw that many tickets fighting bums without being a star?Comment
