you can say or think thurman was "running from spence"...but i think if you think about more realistically...if haymon wanted the fight it would have been done and made....thats how that works and deep down...now maybe thurman told al "i really, really, dont want to fight him"....but i dont know if thats how it went down

again...thurman is no gatekeeper...he has one loss....to pac...it was a close and entertaining fight....that doesnt make one a gatekeeper.....boots has to go beat one first, which im sure he will easily do, before someone like thurman will consider him most likely

Maybe I didn't express myself clearly, what I said was that Thurman's best day's are behind him, not that he was a gate keeper. It appears he might never win another title again in his career, he's just not as sharp as he once was. He's also catching to many punches ias witnessed n his last to fights. A clear indicator that his skills are eroding, that said I did give give him credit for having a warriors heart. Heart is the last thing a fighter loses, he has lost a step, and some power in his punch. The last time he knocked out an opponent was over 5 years ago, missed all of 2018 due to injuries/surgery, and hasn't fought in over a year. He's only 32, but he's an old 32 in regards to his current skill set's, his body is breaking down. Those are my thoughts respectfully, on Kieth Thurman's status at this juncture of his career.
oh i didnt say you in particular...just there were quite a few down on teo and tank after those fights

i think your analysis on keith is rooted in solid beliefs and im not saying youre wrong...im just not ready to write him off just yet

yeah...alot of these guys love the typical "broke" fighter story...dont think about the cottos...the paul williams...the guys who actually do smart things with it....al haymons guys, most of them, are doing smart things with them...hes empowered them.....meanwhile most of the other guys take their cut and give 0 ****s what they do with it after that....

thats why a guy like bob hates haymon....bob loves dependents...that are subservient yes men.....

for a sport that seems to be sort of dead in the US....every time i see a show with some of als guys they all seem to be eating quite well...and he feeds quite a few....

Then with Thurman, it was "Thurman asked for $10 Million, he priced himself out!" I believed that for a while until they offered Shawn Porter $1 Million! Porter said it, and Crawford never denied it! Bob might as well give Crawford a number for the buyout! Thurman is speaking truth, with ESPN behind him, Crawford should be able to afford Thurman or Porter!
I would love to see Terrence Crawford become a free agent, however it seems like he is content to fight whoever as long as he gets paid well.

I don't think Bud is scared of anyone but I do think he's indifferent and that can be frustrating.

They're talking Boots vs. Lipinets in April or May! That should be his ticket! I'm not calling Thurman a "gatekeeper," but he should have at least one test before Spence! Ugas, Stanionis, or Shango, would be fine by me!

In my opinion, Bud thought (no doubt inspired by Arum) that the Top Rank deal with ESPN would have fighters leaving the PBC. He was right, many left, but they went to MatchRoom! He probably still thought that Arum could get him major fights, but he didn't realize that Arum was not about that life! I think he gets it now, especially after Arum offered his "friend" Shawn Porter one million less than he offered Brook!

I would rather see Spence vs. Porter II.
