Yeah you right. That's just how this business runs unfortunately, the promoter doesn't want to risk his investment or their stock to the competition, a rival promoter. Because they'll be losing money on their investment without getting a return..I'd say once their fighter brings in more money then theyhad initially invested maybe the promoter would more inclined to take a risk.

That's the business side of boxing... prevents some great matchups

the plan was for Crawford to get a highlight reel KO of glass Khan. A viral highlight reel KO of Khan could've generated some much needed buzz, instead Dud Crawford failed miserably. I'm sure it was at that point that Arum decided that Dud Crawford was a money losing investment.

“The question is, ‘Do we want to keep him?’ I could build a house in Beverly Hills on the money I’ve lost on him in the last three fights, a beautiful home. Nobody questions Crawford’s innate, tremendous ability. By beating a naturally bigger guy (Brook), decisively, that’s a big statement that’s he’s making. The question is, ‘Does he pay the bills?’ Look, you can have the greatest opera singer in the world. If the fans don’t support it, you’re out of business.”

        ...OOPS

Well, I mean he did make highlight reel. I don't think, short of Smoke Gainer, I've ever seen a more picture-perfect low blow.

thats why guys love al...and bob has had beefs with oscar, floyd, mikey and others

i think you described it perfectly
That's exactly right Floyd, Oscar, Mickey, Cotto, Pacquiao, and most recently Gilberto Ramirez. These were great losses to his Top Rank Promotional team, but he was so arrogant that he never tried to come to agreeable terms with any of them. I appreciate you agreeing with my analysis on this promoter who's had the honor, and great privilege of promoting all of these Hall of Fame fighters.

I believe that your right about that, Kieth Thurman nearly lost against Josesito Lopez. That fight was the fight before he lost to Manny Pacquiao, and he barely came out on top. He did show a lot of heart in that fight, as he has in all of his professional fights. He has also suffered many injuries in the latter part of his career, it does look like his best days are behind him.

while i agree...im not sure i agree hes at gatekeeper status yet...hes lost one fight lol....even if he sc****d by lopez...that was almost 2 years out of the ring off an injury....he lost to pac but it was entertaining and close.....its not like he got blown out or knocked out....yeah pac is old...its still hard to tell just how good pac is right now....but i dunno the term "Gatekeeper" is harsh....hes 32 with one loss...id have to see another loss or two before he gets to that status

guys put stock often too much into recent performances....everyone was down on teo after fighting nakatani....then hed ko'd commey but they still thought "loma is going give him a lesson and make him regret this"......tank was garbage after taking awhile to beat gamboa despite having little trouble in the fight(yes i know gamboa was injured)...but haney couldnt stop him...im just not ready to write keith off

It wasn't Crawford's fault that Khon quit.

Wilder vs. Joshua didn't happen, but Wilder vs. Fury fought twice, and very well might fight a third time too! Tank vs. Loma did not happen, but GRJ vs. Loma did! Canelo is his own man, and does things on his own time! Charlo, Plant, or Benavidez will fight Canelo in 2021, book it! Meanwhile Arum is offering Porter $1 Million dollars! Crawford will be leaving in 2021, book that too! Oh, by the way, Ryan Garcia's Father said that Tank vs. Garcia is looking real good! I know that hurts! You don't wanna see that! Lol!
