Keith “Part Time” Thurman is now a part time boxer. He’s not active enough and his last fight was a loss to a 41 year old, past prime Pacquiao. Won’t be interested until he gets a string of wins that includes at least 1 top 10 WW.

Show me where both Garcia and Spence were guaranteed 8m before PPV upsides.
Again Porter is the mandatory, enforce it. It’s pretty simple. Don’t look at what Khan or Brook was paid. Look at what you can generate and then you see what percentage you can derive from a title fight.
I guess Porter doesn’t want that belt. I see how he never talks about what he was paid in a PBC fight. But he now want to speak about how much he should be paid in another promotion fight?
Again let his promoter or powerful adviser off Bud his minimum and trigger the title fight on PBC/Fox or whatever, and then he can asked for whatever from PBC... Problem solvedhttps://www.forbes.com/sites/brianma...h=d2a06b87695dAccording to reports, both fighters are set to be paid $8 million apiece for the pay-per-view event. The major topic of discussion around this fight is size disparity. Spence is much bigger naturally and there is concern Garcia has been blown up in an effort to compete in a weight class above his best weight class.
I also posted an interview from Hearn saying that his offer to Mikey for a fight on DAZN was similar to the amount he will be receiving for Spence. And we know after the Spence fight he made 7M for Vargas.
And LIS, Idec said Spence was set to make 8.5M and Garcia 8M while Coppinger pretty much confirmed that and said Spence is getting at least 7.5M a fight going forward.
I mean again, why would Porter agree to that? He said himself he can just get the Spence rematch and make a lot more money. And he will be fighting for two belts there. Enforcing a 75/25 split makes no sense. Why would PBC want to do that when they can just out right put the fight on if Bud gets bought out of his deal and can give both fighters a guarantee that won't reflect such a big discrepancy? Come on man, this isn't a situation where you have a smaller name like Ugas refusing to enforce the mandatory.
But it's perfectly fine if Arum doesn't want to be responsible for these fights and potentially lose money. Certainly his right.
Edit:
Whether Spence-Garcia produces somewhere between 250,000 and 350,000 buys, as most industry insiders have suggested, or better, Garcia and Spence will win. Their combined guarantees are believed to total somewhere between $15 million and $20 million.
By Keith Idec - DALLAS – Mikey Garcia is realistic. The undefeated four-division champion understands that four inches, 15 to 20 pounds and 24-0 aren’t the only numerical challenges he’ll encounter Saturday night. Neither he nor Errol Spence Jr. has ever headlined a pay-per-view show, which makes $75 a daunting fig...Last edited by KTFOKING; 01-13-2021, 02:07 PM.Comment

So they aren’t guaranteed 8m without PPV then? I said show me where they are earning 8m without PPV upside. Their guarantees here isn’t 8m. They file a lower guarantee and pay them more if they hit the target mark.https://www.forbes.com/sites/brianma...h=d2a06b87695d

Again Porter can do what you are suggesting, he can always get his powerful adviser to pay Crawford guarantee purse, pay Porter what he wants and host the fight on their platform. No point wanting Arum to pay him more than what his mandatory status says, or better yet he can rematch Spence.Comment

What? They were getting those guarantees PERIOD, even if the PPV did less to cover those purses. The excess would come from Haymon and PBC. This wasn't a case of having a guarantee of 1.5M or 2M and then the rest being PPV upside. NO, that was what they were walking away from the PPV even if it did only 100k buys and PBC lost a lot of money. Now, they could have made more than 8M if it did a certain number, but they weren't making any less than 8M.So they aren’t guaranteed 8m without PPV then? Crawford is the bigger name from Porter and is signed to TR. They would put the show on, not the other way around. If the fight is going to be put on a PBC platform, then Crawford's contract would be bought out. TR would have no use for the fight.
That part about enforcing the mandatory is super unnecessary. If the fight is going to be made, it can be made without enforcing it and then taking the smaller split.Comment

Crawford v Thurman much better fight. Porter is a sideshow to watch. It's not even boxing. Also...Thurman beat Porter...Bob just let it be known that Keef’s team has reached out AGAIN, to make a fight with bud. “Bbbut keef don’t really want it thooo” Sidenote: does it happen this year or is there not “enough money”? #Boxing 🤨 pic.twitter.com/q4saqCyASK

If Spence/Pacquiao ends up happening, would you guys prefer Crawford vs Porter or Crawford vs Thurman?
Spence vs Pacquiao in June
Crawford vs Thurman/Porter in July
And if Spence/Crawford win, they face off sometime in October or November?Comment

They are not guaranteed 8m with no PPV. Simple..... They are a business not charity 😭😭😭What? They were getting those guarantees PERIOD, even if the PPV did less to cover those purses. You do not need to buy Crawford contract out, this is a mandatory. If the champion cannot stage the fight then the mandatory CAN stage it. If it’s more lucrative from the mandatory side then they can stage it.
Hence why Teo Lopez is looking to go to Australia to fight Kambosa as his mandatory, hence why Amir Khan had to defend his belts in DC against Lamont Pederson. So yes you can make it make sense for your boxer.
Porter has a powerful man backing him, he can bring that fight to PBC, Crawford doesn’t have a good relationship with Arum, he is willing to allow Crawford to fight anywhere as getting fights for him is difficult, with having to pay over the odds for both Bud and his potential opponents.
So this is a great opportunity for the other side to get that belt off Bud, stage the fight on your side as a mandatory. Not sure where a rule book says only the champion can stage a mandatory fight.Comment
