It doesn't happen all the time, because under WBO rules, only a "super champion" - which means an undisputed champion - is given an immediate mandatory shot if they move to another division.Comment

The "super" thing is apon request IIRC, not just for undisputed. Yes Crawford was undisputed when he moved up, but Saunders, Andrade, Navarette, Stevenson, Tanaka all weren't. And those are just the ones I could think of lol.
Typically if Warren/Arum ask for it, they get it. Other guys need to work a bit harder though lolComment

any other division, the lineal guy from the lower division would instantly be considered a big player and ready for a title shot, think crawford going 140 to 147. But usyk hasnt looked great at heavy vs the lesser guys and the top 3 are all bigger heavyweights. nobody gives him much chance.Comment

I agree - although it is an annoyance to have this as a potential roadblock.
If Wilder gets his re-rematch then Joshua v Usyk is a quality interim fight before any Undisputed or whatever it is for.
Usyk's promotion team should be a little careful though. If the reports from Hearn are true and they are making big demands, it'll backfire if Usyk has to fight Joyce or Parker for the WBO. Thats not PPV worthy and it will be totally overshadowed by AJ v Fury or Wilder v Fury 3.
Watch Hearn/Arum (and his sidekick fisheyes) make this fight on the weekend before or after as a 'don't mess with me' statement.Comment

I didn't realise that the mandatory had been called; i hadn't heard anything about negotiation period followed by purse bid, as is the usual process?
However, in reality, these sanctioning bodies can do whatever they want! So, if they wanted to remain part of the big picture and get paid that sanctioning fee, I'm sure they could pass some kind of "extraordinary motion" to allow full unification!
Or, if not, it's their call . . .
Thanks.Comment
