Maybe there wasn't time, and he's getting a 140 belt again to negotiate with.Originally posted by PBF34Why didnt he try and set up a bigger fight though?
At this stage I'm still giving the Paler the benefit of the doubt. Though he's gone from being The Ring's fighter of the year 2005 to doing virtually **** all in 2006. It's a career suicide.Comment

hate to tell you, but I truly believe Hatton missed his chance. I don't think they will ever fight now that Floyd is targeting all of his opponents at 147 and 154. Shame on Hatton for turning it down twice.Originally posted by OASIS_LADhatton was confused not hurt
but i agree with most people that at 147 hatton just wont cut it based on the collazo fight
i so wanna see hatton vs floyd at 140 though ( contradicting styles could be fight of the decade )Comment

i thought the Tsyzu fight would, i thought the Maussa fight would, i thought the coolazo fight would, im not so sure about the urango fightOriginally posted by !! AnorakSeriously though, I don't think for a minute that anyone believes Urko from the POTA TV series is regarded as a legitimate opponent, do they? I mean, it's just a stepping stone to something else, surely? No one's claiming any different...are they?Comment

but you may be right
not on hatton ducking ( which is bull**** )
but missing his chance
i though hatton being naturally big would make 147 ( and even bigger ) easy!
i guess the human body is as strange as it is beautifulComment

It does seem pointless given that Hatton already has the linear 140-pound title; what's really the goal in fighting Urango, an apparently undeserving champion for a title Hatton already took from Tszyu?
I think this is an exercise in PR for Hatton in that it will be on HBO. Urango is orthodox, Hatton's natural weight, and will fight all night long with Hatton and neither will be hard to find. Quite the opposite from Collazo's southpaw stance which has always troubled Hatton.
Mind you, how HBO is going to build up their second Hatton main event considering he ****ed up the first one, and Urango has no credibility, I just don't know.
In hindsight, Hatton was over zealous thinking he could just take an established welterweight champion like Collazo easily. Watch out for Collazo's next move.
I just wonder if hatton is getting caught up in this Mayweather mantality that titles mean everything. He's going for the IBF at 140 which is old ground and the fight itself doesn't mean ****.Comment

see, I still cut him some slack.Originally posted by El Temiblei thought the Tsyzu fight would, i thought the Maussa fight would, i thought the coolazo fight would, im not so sure about the urango fight
He obviously had a long gestation period under Warren, but that's perhaps not his fault. Then you've got:
Tszyu fight - doesn't matter where it goes, this is a victory in and of itself. (Never mind that he was even dirtier than usual, for the purposes of this I'm talking about career trajectory, nothing else). Becomes The Man at 140 with one victory.
Maussa - secures bargaining status with another belt in the division.
Collazo - Paper champion to move into the more competitive 147 division.
Urko - Step back down when that didn't work, he's allowed one u-turn, right?
At the moment he's on my "observed" list. I've yet to be convinced he's hand picking opponents for the sake of it.Comment
