it's the belt he's after, it's a bartering tool. having a belt when you are somewhat of a superstar is more leverage to get what you want. plus after struggling in his last fight with a crafty southpaw that is bigger, taking a fight with urango who comes forward with almost zero movement will be much easier for hatton to look good. nose to nose teeing off on one another, hatton has a higher work rate to beat urango, decisively. unless the fight is down in florida, then hatton has his work cut out for him, urango has got mad love in florida from the officials. as far as a step back, i see it more as a stabilizing kind of a fight to see where hatton stands after his last performance.

the problem is that were all tired of seeing tuneups he has 40something fights already, other fighters in his position dont do things like this and neither should he.

Hey, it completely slipped my mind that Urango fights southpaw. I don't know if I maybe saw him switching and taht stuck in my head, but he is a southpaw for the most part. An aggressive southpaw that will be right in Hatton's face is something that is interesting as he has not dealt with that before.

Hes wasting his time, and i honestly feel Hatton is shot now yes shot! Years of binge drinking and binge eating between camps has finally taken its toll, let alone all the cuts and bumps his style takes in the ring. . . .his style requires you to be younger than 28-29 to be at yur best

He has, Eammon Magee. The only man to knock Hatton down.

Not at all, Ricks had one bad performance against Collazo ( a southpaw, moving up a weight etc ) and suddenly he's shot? Lets not got overboard here mate..Ricky Hatton is still the man at 140 and i expect him to beat Urango quite comfortably before setting up a super fight next year were he will truely create more of a legacy in this great sport and get his name down in the history books

Ricky looked so slow and sloppy last time out and he has not loooked sharp since the back end of 04, the guy is clearly past his best and i blame Warren for milking him so long at the MEN against nobodies, his speed and skills have eroded now and theres no going back. . .

Comparing his last few fights to the old Hatton, he's abandoned his boxing skills. I remember he used to move very well side to side and land hard body shots in 5 or 6 punch combinations. Think its time to throw in a new trainer in his corner, someone who can bring the old Hatton back and work on his speed.
