It is a step back. Hatton should fight Cotto at 147, even if he loses his title. Hatton has fought once at 147 Cotto would make his debut so there shouldn't be any disadvantages or excuses.

The stage was set for Hatton's "invasion," and when he dropped Collazo in the first 10 seconds of that fight, I really thought we were going to see a great performance and it would set up a huge HBO PPV fight this fall for him. We all know what happened after that, and it left a sour taste in alot of fans' mouths.

So where do you go after almost getting TKO'd in your American debut at a new weight? It's not an easy decision. If he fought Urkal, people would be upset...if he fights Urango, people will be upset (especially since I don't consider Urango a champ either; but it is in all reality Hatton's belt anyway).

He can't win here. He has to dominate Urango quickly and convincingly.
Anything short of that against an unknown like Urango and he may have to retreat to the UK and fight Witter in a UK megabout if Witter can top Corley (this may be a good idea regardless).

If he can look good vs. Urango, he needs to get the Castillo fight for early next year, and if he wins that, he will be back on track. A win there sets up possible showdowns with Corrales at 140, Cotto at welterweight (though Hatton may never want to fight at 147 again), and Mayweather if he can return to 140.

Yes this is a step back, Hatton was the linear champion at 140 and now he's fighting a prospect who won a crooked decision in his last fight. I hope Urango makes him look bad so this clown can just go back to England. No one is buying what he is selling. Especially after this ***** move.

            Hmmm, let me think? No.

Mayweather only fights on Mayweather's terms. His people would have given Hatton a really bad offer in order to make it look like Hatton was ducking him. Mayweather is notorious for not letting other fighters have a fair slice of the pie.

I would agree with this, seeing as though Winky has said Mayweather "offered" to fight him on Nov. 4, but Mayweather was to get the lion's share and then some, probably in the area of 75%. BUT, Hatton's team has said on record they were not ready for the fight...

They also stated that they'd be happy to take a fight with him as his next fight, but they both seemed to want to take easier options in the end.

What about fighting in your hometown for a long time.

If Hatton want to improve his reputation he should take more serouis oppennet.

Urango is very well build and you gotta give him credit for that but he is less than one diminsional fighter that does everything against the book. There is a possiblity of him trying to KO Hatton with power shots and then Hatton will return it to him in the later round because Urango does not have stamina.
