Loma fans stay crying. It's long been an accepted part of boxing that a rematch can't happen when one boxer wasn't nice enough to the other one.

Arum made it plain and clear he was NOT in favor of rematch clauses and the fight was unlikely to be made with one.
I fail to see the logic in Arum's reasoning then. As far as I understand it, the rematch clause would have exclusively benefitted Lomachenko. Did they somehow save money by conceding the rematch clause? Did removing it add to their negotiating strength? I doesn't appear so. Lomachenko and his father can be excused for their hubris because the legal stuff is not their lane. Arum and Klimas, however, should earn "Worst Promoter and Manager" of the year just for messing that whole contract up.

You thought wrong. Mandos are mandos and have to be dealt with.

I did say that Golovkin was a punk for fighting Szeremeta instead of Canelo, because that mandatory had not been called yet.

The more he talks, the more scared he sounds.

What's this, all the sudden people are in favor of rematch clauses? I thought a rematch clause meant a fighter wasn't confident.

Boxing fans don't want a long line of junk fights.
Loma is the biggest fight that can be made. Arum isn't letting Haney near Teo and Garcia is trying to match Davis.

They will probably fill a stadium in Australia for that fight. Since they don't have coronavirus problems.

Regardless, Teofimo has to fight him or lose the IBF belt. Kambosos is ranked #1 by the WBO too, but I don't know if they called for the mandatory yet.

Lopez knows that Loma figured him out in the second half and would begin where he left off in the rematch. I have no doubt that Lopez wouldn't want to risk that.

Sucks because Loma has some harsh critics here and I know it's a rematch he can easily win.
Agree nearly 100%. Loma deserves a rematch, it's certainly the best fight for Lopez money-wise and if he does sincerely want to repeat as FOTY, but a rematch doesn't go easy for either guy. I feel that Loma can and should win if he fights the way he can for 12 rounds, but Lopez is no kind of slouch, so a rematch is a pick'em in my eyes.
