Not saying anything bad about Canelo, he could probably beat a good amount of ATG's and stuff. But Roy is just a terrible match up for Canelo. Fast feet, fast hands, and keeps you at the end of his punch. Canelo has been in with fighters with these 3 components, like Lara, Mayweather and Trout to some extent (not comparing these 3 to a prime Roy of course, just attributes). I think he landed like 23% of his punches against Lara, who was just basically using his legs and athleticism to avoid Canelo's punches. Roy's physical and athletic attributes are just the wrong formula for Canelo. Outside of chin, I can't think of one advantage that Canelo has on a prime Roy tbh. Speed, power, movement, reflexes, size, length, combination punching fluidity, etc all go to Roy.
