Anthony Joshua has become very, very underrated recently.

He's improved a lot since he lost to Ruiz. Obviously he looked great knocking over stiffs in between him making his debut and beating Charles Martin, and he pulled off that big win against Klitschko, but in between that and losing to Ruiz, he was on a run of flat and fairly unimpressive performances. Against Takam, Takam arguably came away with more credit than Joshua did, the Parker fight was a snoozefest all round, he had way more trouble than he should have against Povetkin. In those fights, as well as the fight against Ruiz that he lost, he was fairly flat-footed and not very fluid apart from spots. I think some people base their perception of him off of those fights, which is why a lot of people wrote him off. In the Ruiz rematch he showed massive improvements in terms of footwork and controlling distance (though arguably Ruiz made it easier for him by coming in in such grotesque shape.) Against Pulev last week, he showed those improvements again, but at the same time managed to recapture the devastating offensive performance that made him exciting to watch in his early career and first won him the world titles. I think it was his best performance by far.

I think Fury will still be the favourite to beat Joshua, but it's not going to be as easy as some people make out. Joshua's shot-for-shot a harder puncher, has faster hands and is a cleaner and more accurate hitter, and if the Pulev fight is anything to go by, Fury's advantages in ring IQ and footwork aren't as likely to be as massive as they were against Wilder or any of his other recent opposition, though his height and reach are still going to be mountains to climb for Joshua or anyone else for that matter.

Ruiz pedigree and fast hands with a great chin to would out box Tua and land combos on him mixing it up . I’m not even sure Tua defeats Parker right now , Ruiz defeated Parker but didn’t get the nod because he fought him in NZ .

Google biggest upsets in boxing history and you'll find AJ.

In fact I think Ruiz had worse odd than Buster Douglas.

The wilder draw he was literally fractions of a second from losing and against Klitschko he could easily have lost on points - it was barely convincing despite people seemingly to think his performance got better and better overtime.
So the Klitschko win is debatable now?

What next, Fury was lucky to get the KO against Wilder? Should have lost to Chisora

Go re watch the fight. It really wasn’t clear cut and a guaranteed win; even the uk commentators were “hoping” but not “expecting” fury to win once the 12th round bell went.

He deserves to win, but very narrowly - in my opinion ; but if Klitschko was given the win I wouldn’t have complained. Neither man threw enough to stake a full claim on the win. Overtime people seem to think that win got more and more comfortable for fury but it really wasn’t. Klitschko was favourite for the rematch for a reason.

The second fight he knocked a man down four times, won every round again and got a knockout of the year contender - against a man who had only lost one previous fight.

But he’s not looked great since right? Please explain what you expected to happen instead then... because I’ll point you to wilder and fury fights and many of them - that they haven’t achieved what your asking for!
Joshua looked fine in Ruiz 2, the way he should have the first time, but psychologically collapsed instead

Against Pulev, Pulev barely offered anything. His jab wasn’t even there, and that wasn’t anything to do with Joshua either. That’s a shame, because if Joshua won despite a solid jab, it’s a possible route to victory against Fury who isn’t robotic and come forward

Joshua should have looked spectacular but he looked a little hesitant, possibly highlighting a post-Ruiz weakness. This isn’t the same as ‘waiting for the correct time to throw’, as there were plenty of opportunities that Joshua turned down to throw against Pulev, but chose not to. He looked good but not as good as he should, within the context of a potential Fury fight

Yea they weren’t sure of the decision because this was Klitschko’s back yard, Germany, who have a consistent record of bad scoring for hometown fighters. Yours is the first opinion I’ve seen dis*****g that win, but there’s ‘always one’

his resume is better than crawford and hes consistently cleaning out top 10 fighters. if he was american he'd be p4p top 3 without a doubt. americans were even starting to put widler on lists before fury beat the snot out of him

Man, Fury won so clear that they couldn`t rob him in the center of Germany, Klitschko`s boxing home. What are you talking about, lol.

Fury beat Klitschko much better than Joshua did. Joshua was very close to be knocked out, lol.

Idk that he's underrated. I feel like almost everyone has him #2 right now & sh^t some even consider him #1 over Fury.

But yea anyone saying Fury is 100% going to beat AJ isn't anyone worth listening too. And those saying that are for sure underrating AJ. Its a competitive fight with what I too believe is a strong lean towards Fury like you.

Hell everyone gots a chance. Everyone. Even that 8-16-2 guy fighting the 20-0 (19KO) gots a chance, just not a very good one typically.
