no one knows who callum smith is either so that argument makes no sense at all. difference is beterbiev is dangerous and callum smith isnt so canelo took the easy fight. difference is beterbieve isnt coming off a pathetic performance against a fringe contender like callum smith is, hes coming off a crushing performance against the best guy in the division. beating beterbiev is worth a hell of a lot more than beating callum smith and everyon knows it. just the fact that you are pretending callum smith is more worthy than beterbiev gives away your agenda. nice try. stamp the fanboy label on your forehead you are hopeless
Don’t waste your time. These Canelo fanboys going to do what they do best and just defend their hero.

Boxing powers that be want to make it seem this is a good fight and that Smith is dangerous and the #1 at 168 is crap. Desperate to make excuses for this fight, this is Rocky Fielding all over again

It's definitely an ongoing episode of, "As The World Turns" or "Guiding Light" or something to that effect.

I wonder how much Canelo is getting paid for this? Surely, they’ll lose money here; no interest/buzz and no or limited live gate.

You can’t say it’s another RF when Smith absolutely destroyed RF!

Even if you think it’s a comfortable win it’s not another RF

I'm looking forward to the fight. I fully expect, and I felt this before the Ryder fight, that Canelo will KO Smith. Maybe not early, but at some point. I see it becoming very one-sided after the first few rounds, and a chance for Canelo to really showcase his ability.

Because nobody gives Smith a chance, the only people talking him up are Canelo fans. In general it seems there is very little hype for any fight at the moment. People kept asking why nobody cared about the AJ fight as well. Guarantee in the next few days we'll have a 'notice how nobody cares about the GGG fight this weekend?' thread. Boxing is still not back to normal and most of the biggest fights feature a guy facing a 10/1 underdog

Smith is the undefeated and the ring champ was it an off night ala Whitaker/hurtado orwas he exposed we shall see but he’s still the top guy at smw that’s a fact.

But doesn’t matter because the canelo haters will discredit him no matter what he can KO charlo and Bivol in the same night and I can ****IN bet that they will discredit that shytt too.
Exactly! All fighters have an off night. I'm sure he has NO problem with GGG's next opponent. Now that dude is a can.

A MW with 8-9 kos? If it goes past 3 rounds ggg needs retire.

The guy is a legit champ and ring #1. Every expert has him top #3

Plant did want that work so Canelo moved on. Saunders don't want it either.

But I'm sure you rank Simon Sesmetta higher than Smith..

Yeah he sure deserves the Ring and WBA 168 belt by beating the likes of Erik Skoglund, Nieky Holzken and George Groves in a weak ass 168 tournament. Also consider the fact a bunch of 168lbs moved up to 175 while he went on that dangerous run to win those belts in a weak tournament.

Smith stinks man. Canelo going to light his ass up against a stiff ass slow overhype Brit fighter.
