DAZN sucks compared to pbc and top rank when it comes to promoting, and canelo being a "big star" doesn't have anyone in his team who knows jack **** in promoting. No golden boy to promote his fights too. Eddie hearn who is callum smith's promoter seem to be focusing his efforts on AJ.

I don’t watch TV so I couldn’t see ads anyway.

My casual boxing fan friends know about it. Hardcore fans know about it. Probably a lot of Mexican-Americans and a good chunk of English people know about it. ESPN has talked about it.

Canelo has 1.5 million followers on twitter also, that’s the new way of advertising. Commercials are great but self-promoting, when you have a large fanbase, can be just as good.

I would say Instagram is a lot more powerful that Twitter. I believe Facebook owns Instagram too. But anyways I follow boxers on Instagram. Never been a fan of Twitter. Instagram is WAY MORE dynamic with media and advertising. It’s the only way to go! That being said Canelo has 7+ mil followers. When he posts particulars he’ll get about a 60k reaction of likes within hours.

But is DAZN a promotion company? From what I understand a lot if DAZN's money is going into the fighter's purse, to lure them into their network, and running a broadcasting company. The promoter(s) for this fight need to pay for advertising.

Hasn't his shenanigans with Golden Boy and DAZN been promotion enough over the past year? We've heard his name repeatedly and folks have guessed who he's supposed to fight next. Again, that's promotion enough in my opinion.

Casuals will hear Canelo is fighting this weekend and most will tune in. That's just how it is.

Canelo don’t really need to Promote. Between Mexico and England
, of the largest markets in boxing, this fight sells itself.

It’s a damn good fight as well that Canelo could lose. Don’t hsleep on a fight family with the best brother coming in after Liam got a read on him.

Nobody is really interested in Canelo v Smith here in the Uk

I don’t think many people even know it’s happening. Probably because it’s not on Sky. DAZN have no real marketing platform in the Uk. So it’s going really under the radar, even though DAZN is now available here.

Probably doesn’t help that Smith is not really a boxer with crossover appeal here. He’s headlined one Sky Sports event in years v Ryder and most people thought he won via robbery. You never hear Smith’s name here much.

Canelo himself is not exactly a star in the UK too. He has a reputation of a guy that wins via crooked judges. It puts the average viewer off being interested in his fights.
