There were even talks of the fight between the networks back then, HBO and Showtime. But a deal wasn’t to be made.
Once those talks died he moved on to Gatti who was the next highest ranked fighter at 140.
It is what it is... Floyd’s people eventually didn’t make the fight against Tszyu
If you’re the best you fight the best not Gatti. Tszyu at that time was too much for Floyd.

Right but he wanted the Tszyu fight. It couldn’t be made and wasn’t at the fault of Floyd’s team. If Floyd had it his way he’d have been fighting Tszyu.

Instead he fought Gatti who was the next highest ranked option.

Too much for Floyd? Ok, how’s the weather over there in your fantasy land?

At the end of the day... Floyd never fought Tszyu. Did yo see what Tszyu did to Zab & this was an undefeated Zab! Wrong Floyd’s people didn’t want that fight! What is it that you don’t get? You do the math...
Tszyu or Gatti? You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure that out. He never fought him... it’s history now.

Casuals? You know nothing about me!!

With MOST of those fights they were low(er) risk high reward. De La Hoya was past it but still a big name, Pac fight was years too late when Pac stood less of a chance but still a huge PPV. When he fought Hatton there were much tougher fights out there but due to Hattons name and profile in the UK it made it a huge fight. What Maidana who had been beaten by Khan, Kotelnik and Alexander, I’m the casual hahaha

You’re proving my point here, these fights were high reward as they were big fights, but low risk as the fighters were past it or had overinflated rankings or status vs their ability

I say most, agree fights such a Canelo it simply came down to it being the biggest money fight out there.

If I’m wrong who doesn’t Mayweather make a proper comeback rather than fighting exhibitions because it’s low risk high reward

The thread is why didn’t he unify, because he was all about the money, there were tougher fights available that might have picked up more belts but they were harder fights and wouldn’t have generated as much in PPV money

                No, that’s false.

Floyd wanted the fight, we know that. He was very vocal about that and tried to make the fight.

It didn’t happen and it was no fault of his own and Gatti only came into the picture when Tszyu couldn’t be made.

Did you see what Vince Phillips Hatton and Hector Lopez did to KT, Floyd would have washed Kostya.

Floyd is in his basement injecting xylocaine and hooked up to an IV machine and planning strategy on how to fight...Logan Paul LMAO. Meanwhile, Pacquiao is trying to make an Errol Spence fight happen. Let that sink in for a good minute

False??? He never fought Tszyu is that a fact? So how could that be a false? Floyd may have wanted the fight, but his people didn’t want it. End of story...he didn’t fight the best available and that’s a FACT!
