Will people ever STOP OVERRATING old primitive era boxers with little skill?

I just got finished reading a RING MAGAZINE article from a few years in degust, for several different reasons. One being how ring magazine and many boxing fans/journalist/critiques, disregard the EYE TEST.

For example, this particular had Jack Dempsey as the 5th greatest heavyweight of all time . Dempsey in his prime was 190 pounds, had no skill (neither did his opponents) and would get CRUSHED by an average amateur middleweight of today?

I recall one idiot (FROM THIS MESSAGE BOARD) saying how fighters were so great back then "because they fought 30-40 rounds". The reason they were able to fight all those rounds was because they didn't do anything but circle each other and hold. If you fight 30 rounds in a Boxing match that means your not doing anything.

Logic gets thrown out the window when it comes to old primitive boxers.

Will people ever stop overrating old fighters from the past?

Does this ever get more specific beyond old guys suck and new guys are better? I mean, we could do that for years but it means nothing. Pure opinion. Every era has great fighters and every era has lousy fighters.

So, it's just your opinion then. That's what I figured. I like the old guys better. They had tougher lives and got to fight a lot more. It's a shame the modern guys fight like once a year. It's not always their fault either but it's the way it happens. I mean, in baseball, you get to see your favorite player play hundreds of games. It's a shame. But again, it's just your opinion versus mine. You haven't pointed out any concrete evidence and I don't see how you can. The eye test has always been BS. It fails all the time. Like Tyson said, it's great until you get hit and then it goes right out the window.

Its a vid on youtube ali vs louis 2nd link down its a side by side it not only shows ali way better movement and skills it shows people ali fought and people Joe fought

can you not see the differences at all in advances in movement and skills your just blind to this? even thought the vid is side by side

People ali fought moved way better and way more skilled then the Joe era
