Yeah, Smith got that Euro stiff style, fighting tall and scoring points mainly to head (wich is actually working a lot in amateur fights).

That style does not match well vs a fighter who can body punch and come forward slipping punches and Nelo is pretty good at it.

Kovalev was way bigger than Nelo too, I believe he has more skills than Smith (since he was able to fight a "a could have gone either" with a master boxer Ward wich is pretty bas a77), and it didn't help.

And you need to win 8/9 rounds vs Nelo to maybe get a SD so...

It’s now a Matchroom show. You’re saying Hearn is buying the judges so that in any case should it go the distance he wants Canelo to win so that he can match the Mexican with more from his roster or have Smith win so they can impose the rematch? Make sense of what you say. The old GBP theories don’t work! . That’s how we know fans just blurt cliche things

Kovalev outboxed Canelo for 10 rounds till he got caught with a better camp/preparation Kovalev wins.

175 is just to much for Canelo he was noticeably slower in head movement and unable to weave and bob like he could against Jacobs and GGG.

Credit to Canelo, he's blazing through the Smith family like no other.

Lol almost forgot about him KOing Liam. Just need to drag big bro out of retirement and pump up the featherweight kid with roids to slay them all

Not Canelo’s fault. If Smith had intent to fight in 2020 she should have been staying ready.

Smith hasn’t got the style to beat Canelo

It’s not even like Smith uses his height and reach as a weapon. It’s very easy for smaller fighters to get past Smith’s jab and do work.

Smith should’ve developed his reach and size into a real attribute but never did. Canelo will have no problems.

Canelo’s biggest problems have been with guys with quick feet.

So with that time frame for preparation, I wouldn't be as concerned about making the weight, definitely don't want to be drained..they could focus on making canelo look bad. If it's already a foregone conclusion judging by the comments, smith can lose the belt on the scale. I haven't seen smith but he's got good length.
