I didn't. He could play, and he put in a few good months before his move.

But the warrior stuff was always overrated in my opinion. He'd watch his opponent drift away from him and then put in a last gasp chase when he'd been too lazy to do the basics in the first place.

But to be honest, he played in some pretty rank teams!

R.I.P Maradona - the best I ever saw. Ronaldinho and Brazilian Ronaldo (the real Ronaldo) are the next two.

Messi and Ronaldo era was the weakest era in football - the standard is going up again with all the young talents coming up.
lololol ever played football kid? weak era? how you work that out then.

Ronaldo is a beast who scores 30 odd goals a season in any league in the world for multiple teams.. he would be good in any era. Real are half as potent since he left, he like Marradonna dragged Portugal to better things.

Messi is consistently the best player on the pitch, but he can’t manage to drag Argentina to higher levels the same as Maradonna or Ronaldo did.

People who don’t rate messi and ronaldo in the same bracket as Pele and Diego are just stuck with rose coloured spectacles.

I just had to throw that in since you mentioned that he said Gravesen is a warrior. So if he actually watched football and knew about the exploits of bald Dane on the pitch - then he should know Michael Laudrup since he's Denmark's greatest footballer. And the Laudrup brothers played in Tyson's era.

I think Tyson got to know Gravesen outside of football. The man is stocky, bald and built like a tank - so he's most likely a Tyson fan, hence they got to meet. Gravesen was an average footballer at best - there was absolutely nothing warrior-like about him. LMAO.

Both Messi and Ronaldo are a tad overrated and they dominated an era where there weren't really great standout talents. The fact that Pirlo and Xavi were worshipped in that era when they were in their 30s but were rarely talked about in previous era when they were in their prime, tells you all you need to know, lol. Pirlo was NEVER better than Del Piero and Totti when they were all active.

Until Messi takes a pedestrian Argentine team to the finals and win the world cup - he'll never be appreciated there. Argentines thought they were done after Kempes - then the football genius, Maradona, arrived and changed the world. Imagine Batistuta was in his prime at the 90s world cup or Maradona didn't sniff too much coke to fall off the cliff at the 94 world cup - they would've won it 3 times. Messi has a lot of great Argentine footballers to play with, yet he hasn't won anything.

I'll start with a quote from my last post to Cobra Curry to explain why:

**Both Messi and Ronaldo are a tad overrated and they dominated an era where there weren't really great standout talents. The fact that Pirlo and Xavi were worshipped in that era when they were in their 30s but were rarely talked about in previous era when they were in their prime, tells you all you need to know, lol. I won't be speak about the 80s because I grew up in the 90s and I'm a 90s baby. However, as someone who grew up so passionately about football and till this day, it's the only sport that makes me get overly emotional to the point of tearing up - I know what I'm talking about. The 2010s era that Messi and Ronaldo dominated is the weakest era and it was that competitive. And that was the reason why I stopped watching football for like 5-6 years - I just started watching it again 2 years ago.

In the 90s, there were loads of standout individual players, even at Ajax that would be the best footballers in the world in the 2010s. Don't even get me started with the Serie A (the best league back then), La Liga, Bundesliga and even the EPL. No one could predict who would win the best player in the world. Same for the noughties (00s). However, with the 2010s - before the season starts, you knew it would either be Messi or Ronaldo. And it's not like we've never seen individual talents on the same level or better than them. But how come they were so dominant? Well, look no further than the level of competition.

Messi and Ronaldo are lucky they reached their at the end of arguably one of the best eras in football history. And when the last of the greats retired - they dominated a weak era. Who was their competition? Robinho? Iniesta? Neymar? LMAO. Robinho and Neymar won't make Team A, B and C of Brazilian greats (Neymar might make Team C tho, lol). Who's the best striker in the Messi/Ronaldo era? - Aguero? He's not even top 3 striker in Argentine history - I'd pick Kempes, Batistuta and Crespo before him. Who's the best defender in the Messi/Ronaldo era? - Ramos? - he's not fit to lace Hierro's shoes for Spain...and don't get me started with Baresi, Maldini, Desailly, Cannavaro, Nesta, Ayala, Sammer, et al. He's not even better than Stam. Let me leave the midfield where the greats played out of it. LMAO.

Pirlo was a CM (more of a no. 8) and both Del Piero and Totti were AM - they both were traditional number 10s. And Pirlo moved to that position towards the end of his career which is the period I was alluding to.

You're an idiot if you think Pirlo was ever a DM. DMs are Makelele, and Viera. What a turkey! LMAO.

I always liked him, thought he was the best of a bad bunch. He’s a successful businessman/gambler and lived in Vegas so that’ll be why Tyson knows him.

I genuinely believed we’d go down around that period, most worried I’d been since the Mike Walker days. We were terrible until Moyes used the Rooney money to bring in Cahill, Arteta etc.

                    Look at this casual...

Ramos is the greatest defender of his generation.
                    -World Cup
                    -Back to back European championships.
-4 European Cups. 3 back to back something no other club captain has done this millennium.
-Over 100 goals for the biggest club in the world
                    -175+ Caps for Spain.

Totti and Del Piero were forwards.

Pirlo is what is known as a “Regista” or a DLP (Deep Lying Playmaker) in more modernised tactics.

Messi and Ronaldo have never scored a World Cup knockout goal between them. Let that sink in...
