You do know there are professionals that can teach presentation, you do know actors were taught, seems a lot of fans never see the big picture, Bud is the student, pros to teach him, Bob pays the bills and secures the teachers, a manager then books appearances, this is building the item you want to sell to the public.Comment

He built Floyd, or do you think Floyd just went from 0 to What he became out the blue?
You confusing Floyd business savvy of leaving Top Rank so he can keep more of his money with your opinion of Floyd Leaving Top Rank because they couldnt built him to a star, Floyd getting more popular/bigger when he left was par for the course rather than in spite of.
So Floyd is the black star they built.
Top Rank also did right by Timothy Bradley, and now Terrance Crawford even though Crawford shows no interest of doing any extracurricular anything to boost his image where as compared to Floyd Maywaether who did do every and any extracurricular to boost his image. Floyd used to stay and interview with every outlet at the media events before youtube was a think to boost his image, you cant get crawford to even give you a sentence.Last edited by TheBoxGod; 11-18-2020, 05:00 PM.Comment

Don just had heavyweights. Don promoted heavyweights which at the time was on fire, and all black fighters. He still has a lot of black fighters now and can't do **** with them/Arum is a f^cking LEGEND can't take that away from him...

With that being said, Don King was the one who was always better at Promoting Black Fighters from what I remember. Don King use to go on every Radio Show, Late Night TV Show and promote his fights, you just don't see that anymore in boxing and I do think that is one of the reasons why the Sport has Declined in Popularity. Bob Arum was/is great at Making fights Bigger on the Mainstream and more of a Crossover Promotional Event in America so when both came together to make fights it would be Historic Events
Arum has made comments about struggling to get a Black Audience to Come out and he also said White Americans are not into Boxing anymore because it is no White American Fighters so he knows.
Long Story Long... Bob has NEVER Created a Black PPV Star EVER!Comment

arums not a miracle worker, bud has absolutely no charisma or nothing about him personality wise that makes people interested in him. just no star quality whatsoever. You do know there are professionals that can teach presentation, you do know actors were taught, seems a lot of fans never see the big picture, Bud is the student, pros to teach him, Bob pays the bills and secures the teachers, a manager then books appearances, this is building the item you want to sell to the public.Comment

Haha
Look at the wonders that did for horn and bradley
Considering the climate and where hes at in his career I would say that's probably a success.. look at the charlos or ggg even Crawford, did they break 200k as the A side?Comment

But to respond to the post I saw an interview a long time ago where bob admitted it was easier to promote other backgrounds unless a black fighter had a flashy personality.. national following got a puerto Rican or mexican fighter dwarf any amercian fighter if the country backs them. Why do you think danny went to puerto rico to fight? To try to get a piece of that pie lol
He did pretty well with Loma tho but I wouldnt call him a ppv star. He had a pretty good buzz going thoComment

lol you dont get it, he can be taught how to act in front of a camera, he can be taught a public personality, youre of the mindset to throw out the baby with the bath water. Its like a pup you train it to act a certain way on que.Comment
