i can understand why the fighters/promoters want a huge ppv star but why should the fans? is this like poor and middle class dummies voting for tax cuts for rich people? there havent even been any big ppv stars since floyd and pac and maybe canelo and bob was instrumental in 2/3 off those cases so doesnt make much sense to say he's not good at getting guys on ppv when he's been the best over the last 20 years but ok. the best selling ppv lately was wilder-fury 2 and he was involved in that one too. if you wanted to say why hasnt lou dibella or something been good at ppv stars that would make more sense

Which black fighters has Haymon turned into a PPV star? Not Floyd, he was already there.
I dont think Arum build Floyd he started him off but he never build him.

      ------------------

Mayweather wasn’t satisfied. He envisioned himself as a headliner who could make “nine-figures” in one night. “Floyd wanted to take his career in a new direction,” says Leonard Ellerbe, Mayweather’s long-time confidante and CEO of Mayweather Promotions. “Floyd walked into Top Rank’s office, handed them a check and the rest is history.”

“He had the great vision to take his brand to the next level,” says Ellerbe. He appeared on Dancing with the Stars in 2007, which opened him up to a new audience. On the show, he met Mark Cuban, no slouch when it comes to marketing yourself. Mayweather picked Cuban’s brain relentless on business. “I don’t think people realize just how focused [Mayweather] is on being more successful outside the ring than he is inside,” Cuban told Forbes in 2010.

if you remember floyd priced himself out of the hoya fight when he was with top rank asking for 20 mill but taking 10 mill after leaving top rank so cant blame that on arum. also cant say arum didnt want to work with golden boy or hoya because couple years later pac fought hoya. also if you look back you can find countless articles of bob bashing floyd for avoiding fights. when have you seen someones own promoter do that to a fighter? floyd obv didnt like it so he left. golden boy gave floyd the matchups he wanted and made sure not to make the ones floyd didnt want and it all worked out from a monetary stand point. in hindsight if arum hadn't been so insistent on floyd fighting these other dangerous guys and just let him do his thing with easier fights he prob makes a lot more money but once again is that a good thing?

Why don’t the black fighters in his stable become PPV stars and household names in equal numbers as their lighter skin stablemates?

By lighter skin, I mean guys De La Hoya’s color, Pacquiao’s color, Erik Morales’ color, Miguel Cotto’s color, Arturo Gatti’s color (I can keep this going)...

He simply comes from an era and a background where he finds it difficult to promote a black fighter and so black fighters on his stable are usually placed on the back burner and the lighter skinned fighters are made into superstars.
Nonsense. There are a myriad of possible explanations.

I’m seeing that right now with Terence Crawford from the same culprit..

I have seen him speak negative of Pacquiao toward the end of his contract his Top Rank.

He’s unprofessional and people think it’s okay because he’s old.

im not sure i understand what you mean. most fighters in every promoters stable dont become ppv stars. also by your own words it seems like you think he has a much more diverse stable so odds are not every one of his stars is going to be black just based on the numbers and why fighters catch on and why others dont is still unknown. its lightning in a bottle

but why is calling out your fighter a bad thing? crawford just turned down the pac fight. why shouldnt his promoter be mad at that? should they be total boot lickers 24/7?

He didnt turn down the Manny fight youre trying to embellish Manny, TC wants the Manny fight and "apparently" it was ready to go, thats not turning down the fight.
