You can definitely be sued if you try to make money or advance your own career with statements like that.

Again, I'm not a lawyer, but I believe Wilder would be safe on the grounds that nobody who matters is going to take his ridiculous ramblings seriously, and the only person whose rep and livelihood could be negatively affected by them is Wilder himself.
The problem with all Wilder said is that Wilder is the one who will need to prove what he is saying in a court of law and that can really really go wrong for him and not just in the monetary realm.

Or Povetkin, if he beats Whyte again.

and if the WBC makes Wilder the mandatory for the WBC strap??? Not sure Fury would have a choice in the matter.

Arum was a lawyer ,I don’t think Tyson would not have got advice from him and not consult the situation here . It wouldn’t really matter if who took it seriously,Wilders claims are also accusing Arums promotion of wrong doing to where the casual fans would not know any better so in court It Would be impossible to prove who takes it seriously and who doesn’t which wouldn’t be the objective.

All fighters should look at this and think twice before giving Wilder a fight . He’s not going to be a draw without Fury ,it will be interesting to see where WBC drops him in the rankings because he’s also saying they were in on it to .

Don’t worry, Wilder v Ortiz 3 and v Stiverne 3 will catapult him back to the top of the rankings, till this day!

The WBC probably value Deontay Wilder, surely if he can get a few wins under his belt 'He will be made mandatory'.
