I think this was more a case of favorable circumstances for mikey more than anything. Haymon PBC needed a Hispanic fighter with some name recognition to propel Spence's ppv run and who better in Texas than Mikey? His purse for Vargas was at a time when DAZN(Hearn) was throwing ridiculous amount of purses at fights that barely moved the needle,those days are over. As far as Pac,again favorable circumstances for Mikey...Hispanic with a fanbase and less of threat than Spence or Crawford for a farewell fight.

The problem with that is Mike’s didn’t ever pull high ratings on his cable fights while spence has the highest numbers recorded for a PBC fight.
