The rival networks aren't dummies. Both ESPN, Fox, Showtime, will try and offer Canelo multi-deals. the catch is that they offer a realistic roadmap of opponents for Canelo to be intrigued as well as the networks convincing its fighters in ''(unfortunately) this is how we have to this if you want the Canelo fight.'' As far as Top Rank PPV, I only see Murata (in Japan) or a (perhaps) catchweight with Beterbiev. As a Canelo fan I don't want any catchweight with Beterbiev because it's what the Canelo haters will leach on as their only knowledge of the sport. Haymon Sports could offer a Charlo, Plant or Benavidez fight all on PPV with more ideal experience for Texas venues. In order for Canelo to want those fights he will need to get a minimum like what Pac and Wilder got. Seeing how boxing is opening crowds like the Davis Santa Cruz 9K attendance, PBC Sports will have to abide by the minimum of 30% like Canelo agreed to for DAZN for a minimum. That's referring to the pandemic situation, and seeing how we are progressing, we slowly rise to premium pay grades again. So assume Haymon offers Canelo $10mil guarantees like Pac or (before) Wilder lost, then it means Canelo can earn another hypothetical 8mil off PPV (300K) give or take. Which means Canelo takes home $18mil minimum and rising here forward.
The grey area is how Canelo Promotions wants to associate itself with PBC on lets say a Showtime event. the more Haymon tries for PBC logos on a Canelo fight means Haymon and Showtime have to own up for a substantial minimum. Otherwise it'll just be Canelo Promotions is association with Premier Boxing Champions. Canelo Promotions' mgmt will know who is double dipping off his business. To always stay clear of such mishaps just pay the man substantially and there won't be any complaints with how the fights are co-promoted.
Showtime might come up with a 3 fight multi deal at around $100 mil if they were smart. It means one network doesn't have to worry about Canelo going to ESPN for a one fight deal for Murata. The trick is exclusivity of course. But to do that you usually means multi-deals
