Its basically the sanctioning bodies , the promoters and the fighters acting like divas pricing themselves out .also 80 dollars for whack ppvs ain't helping either . it all boils down to mismatches and one sided fights .

I watch high profile UFC matches. What I noticed is that because the fighters are under contract with a single company that basically acts as the promoter and manager, fights are easily made. Compare that to a very complicated boxing situation - two boxers with different promoters and different networks and different sense of market value.

Plus MMA doesnt care about records and losses the way boxing fans have in the recent decade.

I’m sure more people would crap on MMA too if both Conor and Khabib held titles in the same division and waited to fight each other until 2024 because it needed to marinate.
