    Ukrainians don't cheer Loma, Usyk?

I'm wondering if most native Ukrainians feel this way? Both are awesome, but I guess I can see things through this guy's eyes as well. Interesting article.

It sounds strange that anyone from Ukraine wouldn't want to support Vasiliy l Lomachenko and Oleksandr Usyk, who are surely two of five best fighters in Ukraine's history. It sounds stranger still that anyone in Ukraine could cheer for their opponents — even if it’s Dereck Chisora, who's set to fight Usyk this weekend and…

I dont get it, what does the author want them to do? Become a political activist? they were both focusing on their careers & clearly did not want to get involved.

Also that 'war' is not as easily simplified as ' Russia invaded Ukraine' it was a highly complicated geo-politcal issue. Ukraine had recently installed a U.S puppet leader, previous leaders jailed, assasinated, voting ballots rigged etc etc. Not claiming to be an expert but its not as simple as the author is making out ' the evil ruskies invaded our lands and Loma & Usyk basically become aligned with the evil ruskies in their silence' which is obviously not true, as shown by Usyk almost calling off his WBSS final with Gassiev due to not wanting to fight in Russia.

It’s one mans opinion but I’m sure he represents many. I’m also sure many love and cheer for the two of them. With a SMALL country in turmoil like Ukraine the expectations of their superstars are going to be high. You want the men or women who wave your flag to be more than an athlete and sometimes it just doesn’t happen that way. With that said, this social/political expectation is a dilemma not unique to Ukraine. It’s just magnified in some areas more than others.

I don't think he wants them to become activists, but to represent the people using the platform they're afforded through boxing. Definitely a complicated thing to consider.

What are Loma and Usyk supposed to say? If they side with Ukraine, then they side with the ***** administration and the CIA who funded and armed the *********s to overthrow (which they did successfully) the government to try and expand NATO eastward and steal Crimea away from Russia, a strategic military/naval port which gives Russia access to the Mediterranean Sea and therefore Northern Africa/The Middle East aka SYRIA (which btw, Russia was working with Assad to destroy rebel groups and ISIS - both funded by the CIA, Mossad, Israel, ***** administration) and Russia's navy launched sea to land missiles to take out countless ISIS strongholds/military convoys/weapons caches.

Option 2: They side with Russia and put a target on their heads from angry Ukrainians who were killed by Russian rebels/soldiers in the then Ukrainian Crimea (understandable that Russia would defend their right to Crimea, but the facts are Ukrainians fought and died to protect their land).

It's best they stay neutral, politics isn't so black and white. Some people consider *** to be angels, others see them as violent rioters, murderers and insurrectionists etc.

Why potentially sabotage their careers before they had already begun?

I’ve been to see both of them live.

Trust me, they passionately support them.

Bad example with the *** but I understand what you’re saying.

Here's an interesting point of the Euromaidan, right after the "revolution", Russia initiated a UN resolution entitled "Combating glorification of ****sm, Neo-****sm and other practices that contribute to fueling contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance," was approved by the U.N.'s human rights committee on Friday with 131 in favor, 3 against with 48 abstentions. You know who voted against this? The US, Ukraine and tiny Palau (lol). The reason why the US and Ukraine voted against this is because Ukraine is full of far right neo-**** types, the Right Sector and Bandarists played a big part in Euromadian. The Ukrainian revolution was just another neocon CIA op, ffs Neocon Victoria Nuland was handing out cookies during the demonstrations.

When the USSR fell, Bush promised Gorbechev not to expand NATO to Russian borders, but the US has continued encircling Russia, and Ukraine is part of this strategy, that's why ***** took a more aggressive stance.

This Euromaiden did **** all, Ukraine oligarchs got richer, while regular Ukrainians continued to migrate to look for work. All it did was put a US friendly government.
