Oh no doubt Dunn Lopez was f***king him up in the 12th. I'm not saying Lomachenko would definitely win a rematch at all...in fact, Lopez would be favored. I'm just saying that it would be possible. There are some fans out there acting as if Lomachenko would have a 0% chance to win a rematch. And that's absurd. A fighter of Lomachenko's caliber would of course have a shot to win.
Lopez says no rematch for Loma

He doesn't deserve one. Teofimo definitely doesn't owe him one and the fans certainly don't believe that the fight was close enough to even warrant one.
The man had all the fight, life and spirit sapped out of him in that fight. He looked like a broken fighter to me who was very comfortable in their with Lopez. It's one thing to lose and another to lose for refusing to try.
That fight was very reminiscent of Mikey Garcia and Erroll Spence. Mikey just simply quit for refusing to try. Like Loma, he was resigned to losing even before the fight was ever signed
I thought that Vasiliy's performance was both shameful and disgraceful. How can a man expect to win a fight by going seven rounds without throwing hardly any punches?
You don't get credit or rewarded for laying down in fights. So bye Matrix! You piece of shit!

Well, they haven't even really capitalized off this fight as it had no gate, so I guess there should be some money that could be made. Maybe their happy with just having the few face they can headline (against anyone) when fans come back.
I'd imagine being able to do it next year at MSG with Teo coming in as THE guy, doing it his own way with his people in attendance. Berlanga on the undercard again; maybe a resurgent Verdejo as well. Loma fought a couple times there - could be a hyped up event. Like the Trinidad and Cotto days (yes, I know Lopez is not PR, just speaking of NYC boxing crowd)
I supposed they could do all that and put Lopez up with a patsy and still make money so there's that going against a rematch.
I just feel like, yes, I saw enough to say Teo won clearly, yet wanted to see the fight continue on? Teo was just starting to put it on him after getting touched up in previous rounds..action was still very tightLast edited by LA_2_Vegas; 10-19-2020, 06:28 PM.Comment

Honestly, it’s a shame they didn’t put the rematch clause in, cuz if it doesn’t happen soon, it’ll probably never happen.Comment

Based on the scoring the judges could have been bought for sure. Needlessly so though as Lopez was the clear winner just not by so large a margin.Comment

If this was 130 or below I’d agree with you.Oh no doubt Dunn Lopez was f***king him up in the 12th. I'm not saying Lomachenko would definitely win a rematch at all...in fact, Lopez would be favored. I think at 135, Loma is in the same type of situation Floyd was at 154.
I will say this-Loma’s defense is so good that he could tire anyone out and win late.
But honestly I see this as a Forrest/ Shane or Raheem/Morales deal where the other guy has the size, speed and strength on his side and will always be a bad matchup.Comment
